As the weekend goes on and secrets are revealed, it seems everyone, above stairs and below, wants a piece of William and his money, but how far will they go to get it...?

This film opened the London Film Festival and was lucky to see
tickets. Robert Altman was there with most of the cast.

I have seen more than half of the Altman barrel of work and this has to rank up
his best. Set in the 1920's, a group of people gather for a shot
weekend at the estate of Lord and Lady Mcardle. There are two sets
characters, the Toffs upstairs and the lower public. With his customary
multi-streaming narrative overlap, cross-sectional and dialogue
stories intertwined, Altman establishes the dynamics within and between the two
classes. No fewer than 32 pieces and speaking each is invested with
clear identity. Only a few lines, a gesture, the raising of an eyebrow,
We have an idea about a character feelings and motivations.

Sometimes the narrative moves at this rapid pace, but never lose sight of
