Talladega Superspeedway. For those who are unfamiliar, is bigger
And NASCAR's fastest track, and the scene of the latest Will Ferrell
Comedy Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby. I am not a fan of
Careers, but I do know funny. In Will Ferrell in
Driver's seat of a car securities issued John C. Reilly (so wonderful in
Chicago) as his best friend, and Sacha Baron Cohen (better known as Ali G.
) as his rival and that can be almost guaranteed a good film.
Here is the deal… Ricky Bobby (Will Ferrell) is born in the backseat of a
Souped-up Chevelle. Their motivation in life is given to him when
Ten years for his alcoholic father: "If not first, which is
Past." This mantra leads to the pit crew of a team losing the race.
When he has a chance to finish a race, Ricky
shows that there's not much he will not do to win. Team with his best friend Cal
Naughton, Jr. (Reilly) they become 'Shake and bake "and move to the NASCAR
Super-stardom. Ricky has the perfect life. A sexy wife, a family,
Riches. Enter Jean Girard (Cohen), a flamboyant French
Ricky beginning to unravel the perfect world and therefore struck off the track.
Ricky is forced to confront his own fears. And a Cougar.
What is it, huh? A Comedy? It sounds more like the "feel good" movie
From summer! Maybe there is no mention that Jean Girard is a gay man married
(Andy Richter plays her husband in a decidedly secured
Role) sips of espresso while races. Or that Ricky and his wife Karla
(hot Leslie Bibb) have two children named offender and Walker Texas Ranger
. What about the cougar? Oh, I know that I mentioned the
Cougar! All this and more is mixed well under comedy
Eye Adam McKay, who wrote (along with Ferrell) and directed.
Talladega Nights takes all the All-American Dream-and makes
It's fun. It was Rudy with belly laughs. Better yet, is the Anchorman
car racing, which makes sense since McKay made the film, too. Much
considered improvised scenes, but by professionals. And with
A great cast that included Gary Cole and Amy Adams, the jokes were
constant and seamless. From a dinner grace to
'Lowercase, baby, Christmas in Jesus Molly Shannon image of
Drunken wife team owner, the film never fails to make you
Laughing. As an added bonus, this movie also has some great action. The
sequences of the race were very credible and accidents were surprising.
To be completely fair, there was a time when some of the scenes
Carried forward a bit. And some characters not like as much as
Others. But ultimately, a pleasant, laughing aloud
experience for 13 years and nobody. Shake and bake, baby!
You still get plenty of fast action, the muscle cars, and massive car
Accidents. You just get to laugh a lot too.
Will Ferrell really does not get enough credit for their performance. As
