"3000 Miles to Graceland 'is not as ladysouljah as the cover art
with Kurt Russell and Kevin Kostner clad in Elvis regalia suggest.
Despite that breaks little new ground in its already overloaded with gender,
film does emerge as an efficient crime drama thanks to a gallery of
interesting characters, and some impressive performances Demian Lichtenstein
flashy style of leadership.

After a hesitant first half hour or so, in which the film seems to be
struggling to establish its direction and tone, the film miraculously hits
his step and, starting Thereafter, he never lets up. The story revolves around
a banda of ex-Contras, united by their almost obsessive love for the King of rock'n'roll
, who decide to call more than one casino in Las Vegas
dressed as Elvis impersonators. Predictably, the heist only serves as the pretext for a
of them, the psychotic, obviously, Murphy (Kostner), in cold blood
eliminate their accomplices. The fly in their ointment is being
Michael Zane (Russell), most principled one of the group, who survives the Holocaust
and spends his time with a beautiful single mother and the
a precocious child, trying to stay out of Murphy's.

In terms of plot, the movie follows a fairly traditional route
this type of film. However, here the characters seem a bit more developed than
often do in some of those other films, especially Zane, who seems caught between its
criminal inclinations and his innate goodness as a human being
. Cybil, the single mother played by Courteney Cox, also appears
real conflict between love and emotion and excitement of
easy wealth and a life lived on the edge. But it's very Kostner Murphy
that provides the real tone of the film. His portrait of a psychotic murderer
railway eyes literally sets teeth on edge, as he callously cut into results
policemen and innocent bystanders who happen to get in their way. The
makes for a true soul-cringing villain. Russell, who played the
legend in his own younger, more Halcyon days, makes a fascinating
Murphy subtle counterpoint to the unbridled cruelty.

The film is not, however, a complete success. On the one hand, violence
often seems too brutal, graphic and a half for an animated film that seems
wanting to be a kind of lark (after all, a film with thieves dressed as imitators of
Elvis can not be bidding to be taken too seriously).
Moreover, the plot, which all too often no se basa en coincidences
to keep rolling, too often borders on the incoherent. Finally, the morally ambiguous ending
not actually sit well with those of us who find a
pair of thieves, no matter how charming it may seem,
unlikely candidate for heroism in the context of a 'happy' ending.

Overall, however, `3000 Miles to Graceland 'probably appeal to
who like their crime dramas offbeat, peculiar and full of interesting characters
.




OK, is a piece of garbage. It is one of the guilty pleasures of mine.
You know, the film which is supposed not want but can not resist
every time you turn on.

I mean, look at this cast: Kevin Costner, The bodyguard, one of my favorites
; Kurt Russell of Grindhouse, Christian Slater and Howie Long
of Broken Arrow, Kevin Pollak, Hostages; Ice-T as the token
rapper, and the best part of all, Courteney Cox, a role that is so far from
me that this is a classic.

This film is funny (Jon Lovitz), candy (David Kaye), and has more
action that you can ask a heist film. It Showgirls,
a convention of Elvis, and I do not mind if people Dissertation Costner, Russell,
and Cox, the film is just fun to watch.
