Few things in life as stressful as planning and executing a wedding
. When this maze filled with emotions ranging from
head in a contest held by Confetti magazine for the "most original wedding,"
things are bound by little lioso.

Three couples are chosen for their unique wedding ideas: Matt (Martin Freeman
) and Sam (Jessica Stevenson) want a musical style Hollywood
Josef (Stephen Mangan) and Isabelle ( Meredith MacNeill) compete for a
topic of tennis, while Michael (Robert Webb) and Joanna (Olivia Colman) are
"naturalists" and want their nuptials to be done in the nude. Trying to
Wrangler these three disparate couples in some kind of order
are wedding planners Archie Heron (Vincent Franklin) and Gregory
Hough (Jason Watkins) who seem to be channeling Corky St. Clair .. .

In fact, fired as a documentary, this set piece is sure that British
be (rightly) compared to Christopher Guest's mockumentaries (espera para
GUFFMAN, a powerful wind, etc.). Director Debbie Isitt does a fair job of aping Guest
although she did not know when
documentaries ranging from hand to facilitate the camera and the choreography was too basa in
not diegetic music.

It is also clear Isitt is aware of the weaknesses of history. Two of the three couples are
off the screen for long stretches and our
"villainous" partner (think Parker Posey and Michael Hitchcock
BEST IN SHOW) is correctly in the final. Even when you're not working
with the best material (the number of jokes about a nudist wedding may have
be?) The cast does an excellent job of keeping the film afloat. Besotted
anglophile with faces familiar to TV / film viewers, is a Confetti
amusing farce.
Can I say I love this movie, just as I love
Waiting for Guffman and best in show. It made me laugh out loud and
made me wince with embarrassment for the characters. A brilliant cast
British comedy actors deliver deadpan dialogue in this mockumentary
fun.

Now, I realized some posts said "Americans do not get" British humor
"which could not be further from the truth! Im an American and an
big fan of "good mocumentarys" and this film certainly ranked up there in
the cream of the crop of comedy.

Sam Hay and Matt who wants a Hollywood musical wedding in style
of Busby Berkley.

Josef and Isabelle who are highly competitive tennis players who want a
Wimbledon-style wedding.

Michael and Joanne who want to marry because they are in the amateur naturalists
.

The fourth and most fun couple are wedding planners Heron & Hough,
camp excesses that describe themselves as "mad as cheese." They
the most difficult task of trying to make each couple's dream become reality
. Each character is more twisted that the next
including the organizer of the competition and Vivien Antoni who were duly concerned
the size of the nose Isabelle, the cat and the fight against sister and mother of Sam
.

Political correctness should take a back seat and say "I do" in this
very exaggerated comedy of errors. 10 of 10.
