TV child star of the '70s, Dickie Roberts is now 35 and parking cars. Craving to regain the spotlight, he auditions for a role of a normal guy, but the director quickly sees he is anything but normal. Desperate to win the part, Dickie hires a family to help him replay his childhood and assume the identity of an average, everyday kid. Several folk who are also involved in Dickie's special world include: Sidney, Dickie's longtime friend and agent; Cyndi, his on-again, off-again girlfriend; Peggy, Dickie's real mother; George, Dickie's adopted father figure; and Grace, his adopted mother figure.

Contrary to the strong criticism of this movie by several critics as a poor attempt
comedy with an absurd argument, I found this film to be
delightfully humorous with a great morale for everyone to learn. Like Joe Dirt, David Spade
this movie really gives his best effort in such a way that you
leave feeling like you just give a boost to life with such great
history. I'd recommend you see this movie in theaters.
The end credits are also hilarious. Dickie Roberts: Former Child Star
tatseful truly combines comedy with life lessons that the public of all ages
can truly appreciate.
A silly comedy starring David Spade, a former child star who "hired" a
family in order to give himself a real experience of childhood so you can nab
a new party a film by Rob Reiner. The premise is as silly as you can get
but it does have fun injokes the participation of many former child actors
the years 70 and 80 which is great fun for lovers of nostalgia tv ..
pleasant enough comedy. Grade: C
