Lancelot lives by the sword. In fact, they're next door neighbours, so teaming up to fight for money comes pretty naturally. Lady Guinevere, on her way to marry King Arthur is ambushed by the evil Sir Malagant. Fortunately Lancelot is lurking nearby and he rescues his future queen. They fall in love, but Guinevere still fancies the idea of wearing a crown, so she honours her promise to Arthur. Can Lady Guinevere remain faithful, or will this Pretty Woman become a lady of the knight?

Overall, I liked this movie. I like the Arthurian legends,
Sean Connery, Julia Ormond and Richard Gere. And I'm not a purist
of any kind. If you can not tolerate the update, improvisation and revision of
his favorite myths and legends, this film avoided at all costs.
Excalibur is a very minor character, most of the knights of the round table
are treated interchangeably, Camelot is presented as a libertarian
/ democratic utopia, and the events of the legend are < br> somewhat rearranged. Gere even affect a British accent, let alone
alone medieval expression. And where is Morgana and his son? A few
aspects of this radical revision of the legend of Arthur, Lancelot and
Geneva bothered me - I thought Gere did an admirable job as Lancelot,
but also thought it was terribly miscast. Gere is as American as
cheeseburgers and has limited physical capacity to act. However,
prepared to handle the action scenes quite well - with the help of some
the camera and director, and her accent and Mannerisms did - if perhaps too
- underscore its unlike most Arthur's environment.

Ormond steals the show. Connery makes his usual dose of classic regal
virility and that a charismatic and powerful voice
portrait of Arthur, and Gere is normal, a little humor and
disorienting, but lovely human. The film is well shot, though
too many close-up of stars holdings of power. The
editing and direction are fine, but keep in mind the comments about Gere.

The foundations of history are as follows - Geneva (Ormond) is a young lady of
lioness whose marginal lands are threatened by Upstart Prince
Malagart. Malagart out is to demonstrate that the path of Arthur and Camelot
yes, they are an aberration. Lancelot - a drifter with a knack
sword fighting - rescues Geneva of an ambush launched by his wedding
caravan and is immediately smitten. Whether out of love or honor, Lancelot
your help to recover his bodyguard and runs into the forest
and his itinerant lifestyle. Geneva marries Arthur Arthur
and plans to defend their land. Lancelot reappears and placed himself at the
roundtable, but their motives are suspect.

and scenes of battle are not half as the movement
dynamics of their relationships.

Recommended for romantics. Not recommended for purists or action fans.
How on earth did Sean Connery, Richard Gere, Julie Ormand, Ben Cross,
Sir John Gielgud, and other agents of the note, never takes lead in this awful movie
atrocious? The word "hokum" is undoubtedly a
fulfilled in this case. Surely not for money? Nobody's that
greedy or hard. Or do we all think that was a good idea to
time? If so, they were badly mistaken. The alleged

Norman armor seemed that there was something dreamed
(and thrown out) or Star Trek Flash Gordon. In fact styles
of (designer) armor on display here range from bizarre to
with incredible nuances of ridicule in between. Ignoring
that all of them were made of modern equipment, uniforms were not used in any military
in Britain until Cromwell's New Model Army in the 17 st century
. Until then, both the recognition of friend and foe alike was
banners, etc., and everything was a bit of a hit and miss affair (as
this movie, in fact). On reflection I can not recall seeing a single banner
throughout the film.

The legendary King Arthur would not have been anyway Norman. It was supposed
(debatedly) that has been a 5 th or 6 th century Ancient British
some say with Roman ancestry, and who have lived long before the Norman Conquest
was even thought of. One theory suggests that even the view
actually was a Roman who had remained in Britain after everyone else had left
. Any of the many theories that you prefer, you have to
agree that certainly would not even have seen a Gothic building
let alone lived in one.

moralizing (or should I say demoralizing) script was not only
absolutely disastrous, but frankly silly. Almost as stupid as a gas fire
the middle of the round table.

I do not think that Britain was in fact mentioned in the script, so
perhaps if this re-speaks of a powerful story had been set anywhere (
in any planet in the far reaches of Andromeda comes to mind) instead of
in and around Camelot, and with a different set of characters,
the film might have been acceptable. As it is, has to go in the
comedy mode. Except that was not destined to be one.

Richard Gere as Lancelot has to be one of the worst casting
errors in the film history, that is, if you discount as John Wayne
Ghengis Khan (and " Surely this must be the Son of God! "Centuries), or
30-year-old Robert Taylor as Billy the Kid. And Sean Connery as King Arthur
not much better rhythm.

The only comment I can make good on the whole production is that there is a
rather beautiful musical score hidden somewhere behind
all, and Adam Greenberg of cinematography is quite good. For
these two points I have just given an extra stars, but it's still an awful
film.

In conclusion, this must be a Follywood production that can not be lost
... otherwise you never know how serious it is!
