While Rob Pratt has to be commended for making a real
independent British horror film, the final outcome, like most British
independent film is a mixture of horror in which film producers < br> undeniable talent and ambition is compromised by the lack of
resources and self-restraint. The lifting of several ideas cliché
The Omen and Amityville Horror, London Voodoo tells the story of an improbable
American couple who moved to London in an attempt to
save their relationship, but whose fate take a turn for
the worse when they discover that their new home is pursued by a
Voodoo spirit. While you can see the commercial logic in writing
American characters in a leadership role, the unknown, ex-pat
Pratt cast actors who both deliver uncharismatic lead
actions and their characters are written by
such a heavy handed, little road that, unfortunately, this effort falls
debut at the first hurdle. Once you get over that initial disappointment,
contributions and there are moments that suggest what might have been
, especially Trisha Mortimer as the 'love-keeper "which manages
to breathe life into Prattens inconsistent dialogue and
Voda Barnes that although the excess of an adequate written sexy as the
-Au Pair. Comic Relief is provided by the two decorators and
support Afro-Caribbean cast add flavour to other lusterless
procedure. Also noteworthy are the businessmen in the office
scenes, which show that when Pratt is not trying to make a
burden of persuading spookery, which is actually very good
The writer / director. Shot in 16mm hand with basic lighting of the film
looks like a television show particular localities are in operation to

Cliche. The best production values can be found in the voodoo
paraphanalia to suggest authenticity and a lot of
investigation. In 98 minutes the film is too long and would benefit greatly
ten minutes of finishing, especially the scenes where various

attempt to give some kind of spiritual connection to the proceedings. I gave this movie 4 out of 10
shows promise, but must do more.
I remember as a youngster, the very idea of voodoo was terribly creepy. Zombies
dark and sweaty bodies, insane eyes glaring out from behind
skull-like makeup. The strange wildness of the night, the fire, jungle,
rendered in the human world, a kind of terror abroad
nightmare similar to the serial murderer. The werewolf perhaps. The sensual
madness lies just beneath our thin veil of civilization.

Unfortunately, London Voodoo does not even come close. He hoped
something that would help me review all the delicious old fears,
but, unfortunately, the film missed the mark completely.

Now, do not get me wrong. I think this is a good movie. Well written, well acted
, unusual theme for the genre of horror of the moment, so that
in its original form. But I think unfairly suffered
cheap production values, and a lack of attention to detail that gave him more than
the feeling of a fact-for-TV drama than a horror film.

Some horror film makers succeed in leaving there and fazer something really frightening, Moody, atmospheric, for very little money.
Blair Witch, Raimi's early films, etc. In these films, low budgets
actually prove a blessing, such as poor lighting, etc. can add
an extraordinary atmosphere. Voodoo London, however, seems to be triggered in
betacam (although it is likely Digital Vid), and the entire film is
Stark, ordinary. It looks like an episode of Neighbours or Eastenders.

As to horror. The fear of voodoo practitioners,
terrifying voodoo priest with his top hat and the snake? Well, nowhere to be found. We
however, I think, pretend to be frightened by the collapse of the family ordinary
also to imagine the horror in which we can not see, the collapse of the
hands. However, the lack of shadows, the darkest spaces in the same
