Back in Action really caught snarky know we all love Bugs,
make egomaniac who is Daffy and many of the other major features of the original crew
the glory days of Looney Tunes. Dante
really knows this territory and his affection for the material is very clear. The
is the only logical choice for the director (see his films for more
countless references to the banda Looney Tune). Human beings are all games,
UpStage but never the real stars (Bugs Bunny and the Gang of course), but
simply add to the film and give us at least some of flesh and blood
characters for us to relate. Fraser, once again, both heroic and likable / ridiculous,
Elfman is sexy and a bit cynical fresh change of pace from his more docile
"Dharma" in nature tv Martin and is like a human cartoon character
. There has been this "out there" and unpredictable since
celebrates its stand-up days. Doing anything but play it safe, and ends up
with a memorable, if not a bit eccentric. Timothy Dalton as
Fraser's dad is a real stand-both references and spoofing 007
past
without scuffing up himself or reputations of Bond. The fact that so
straight plays, brings to the quality of their jokes and scenes (love
"slapping himself" scene!).
There are some truly inspired bit here; fun and clever. The scene in
the Louvre is both beautiful to see so much fun and I laughed harder than I have
in theaters for a while. All outer space sequence is also fair
jammed full of so many great bits have to see it twice just to take it all in.
It is unfortunate this small jewel of a film has been gobbled in the occupied
holiday release schedule, but fans should be pleased this movie was made in
and everyone will be able to hold and enjoy it in the near future. I loved it, because
did my 12-year-old sister, my girlfriend and I have seen the theater. Sad
unlikely there will be another large-scale production after Looney
this,
but we have to treasure this one. I believe that over time, and since then
home video / DVD, Back in Action is is public. Like all great movies
worship, it will probably take some time for it to be discovered, but fans
be kept alive. Examples? Big Trouble in Little China, Tron,
Buckaroo Banzai, Austin Powers, Swingers and F / X are only a handful of movies that made
very poor or just ok at the box office but became great success in
home video and, in many cases won rabid cult following that made them
favourite with fans even today.
Mysteries never cease. This smart, hysterically funny movie tanks
spectacular and disappointing Who Framed Roger Rabbit is a
Blockbuster and Scooby Doo gets a sequel. Maybe people do get movies
they deserve after all!
Joe Dante has always been beaten and lose outside the Gremlins films,
but this is up there with Gremlins 2 as his masterpiece. Unlike
recent short, this sentiment rescues and the madness of the great Looney Tunes
perfectly and Dante fills the live action world that when
do not live in shorts with more than gags in you can shake a stick at
- and 90% of them are great. However, critics who despise the sidelines of the
brilliant sequence in the Louvre: maybe they were too stupid to
collect on the progress of jokes? Even Steve Martin is not as bad as was done
outside. And the film has a great score by Jerry Goldsmith.
tremendously entertaining, one of the funniest comedies of all kinds
I've ever seen!
