The UK is about to switch its currency from Pounds to Euros, giving a gang a chance to rob the poorly-secured train loaded with money on its way to incineration. But, during the robbery, one of the big bags falls literally from the sky on Damian's playhouse, a 5-year old given to talking to saints. The boy then starts seeing what the world and the people around him are made of. Ethics, being human and the soul all come to the forefront in this film.

Millions reinforces the fact that Danny Boyle can not be pigeonholed as a director
. One does not expect to see the acclaimed director of the
drug abuse and zombie movies come out with this kind of healthy entertainment.
While this is accessible to the family, do not let that fool you into thinking
the film has no weight. The sincerity of this film
save it from becoming too lovey, Boyle and personal connection with Manchester
certainly adds to the depth of the environment.
The story is told of children to view, with bright colors,
and give children special performances. Using
stop-motion and the acceleration of the presentations is characteristic of a style
Boyle enjoys, accents and the scenes where it is used properly.
I recommend this movie, and I just wish he had been released by the
holiday season past.
Tonight the selection of Danny Boyle's Millions in
Toronto International Film Festival was the film's world premiere.
Boyle was in attendance along with the two young stars of the film, and he introduced
which, obviously, is a project that is very dear.

Two young brothers in Manchester come across a gym bag overflowing of
cash, British pounds, a few days before the Bank of England along switches
the euro.

Damian (Alex Etel) is a young philanthropist who spends his time learning
(and daydreaming) on the Saints. The cree that money,
that seems to have fallen from heaven, is a gift from God and
want to use the money to help the poor, while his elder brother
Anthony (Lewis McGibbon) is a hot-blooded capitalist
already thinking of exchange rates, inflation and cost of ownership. The
use the money to buy the affection of their new colleagues.

There are obvious parallels to be drawn Boyle with the first regular film
Grave, (reviewed here), which also tells the story of a group of friends who find a mysterious
surplus cash, and the morale of what fazer with it.

Millions, however, is like a feel good counting regular and Grave
through the eyes of children. It is sweet without being saccharine, and
is quite pleasant. I was incredibly cool to watch a movie
with a situation like this do not make the characters look bad for wanting
to keep the money that is not theirs. This is not a film that chastises
greedy or denounces the almighty dollar, is one that celebrates the
opportunity to make a difference in their lives and the lives of others.

In particular, enjoyed the elements of fantasy in which Damian
seeks the advice of several saints who seem entrusted to him in visions that blur the line between
imagination and spiritual visit.

projected in the gorgeously ornate Elgin Theatre, the movie got a standing ovation
, which may have been only for the benefit of the two
young stars of the film, but I do not could help but get a little emotional
to see the two of them, standing alongside his director and
surrounded by members of the public cry in the rapture of love and applause from a room full
of strangers after that tender and affectionate film.
