(comedy, drama)
An elderly Jewish widow living in Atlanta can no longer drive. Her son insists she allow him to hire a driver, which in the 1950s meant a black man. She resists any change in her life but, Hoke, the driver is hired by her son. She refuses to allow him to drive her anywhere at first, but Hoke slowly wins her over with his native good graces. The movie is directly taken from a stage play and does show it. It covers over twenty years of the pair's life together as they slowly build a relationship that transcends their differences.

Maybe 'The Shawshank Redemption "(1994) (qv) is a bigger, better and more brazen
film, with more claims, and is, of course, an excellent
film: I can not help but think that it is in "Driving Miss Daisy"
Morgan Freeman that develops its best role, playing so well the opposite
the unrepeatable Jessica Landry. I have not seen all of Freeman's
films, nor want. Of those who have seen is more or less OK '
As you might say, What makes "Driving Miss Daisy" is human labour and
human compassion and sympathy flowing between the two main actors,
with Dan Ackroyd, surprisingly, Esther Rolle and therefore a good loan
hand.
One could argue that it is' only 'a story sentimental oversweetened;
any event, the film tries to portray aging
relationship between Jews rich white woman and her
poor black driver in the course of 25 years. And Jessica Landry was
over eighty years old when he made this movie. In this aspect, of course, the film
success, as the story itself is really of secondary importance: the
is beautifully filmed scenes and dialogues that build up
something more than history itself. In an era dominated by cinema
filled with violence, sex, special effects and so on, here is an example
, without these measures, relying on pure
acting and interpretive skills to to tell a story simple clean.
You might as well as to compare this movie with Lindsay Anderson '
The Whales of August "(1987) (qv), with a cast absolutely unique
with Lillian Gish , Bette Davis, Vincent Price and Ann Sothern:
retrospective delicious piece.
"Driving Miss Daisy" was meticulously, with all the cars
50'sy 60'sy adjustments scene careful, highlighted by the excellent photography
, And all backups of what must be Hans Zimmer
more appropriate, and perform the score. His score was also good that
tremendous film "Thelma and Louise", as well as' The House of the Spirits
"and" Beyond Rangoon "(1995) ( QV).
"Driving Miss Daisy" is one of those videos in my collection that I
the pleasure of flying dust and look again: is as follows
charming as ever.
After seeing this film for the second time I realized how important
affection that occurs between Hoke and Daisy really is. What
grows between these two is something that most people only want to take their lives
.
What is so special about it, though?
Since the beginning of their relationship, the two are forced to be
together.
Daisy is bound to have a driver and Hoke was hired for that position.
therefore, the ratio is one in need. Hoke needs a job and salary
Daisy needs a driver in his old age (although she never admit
for anyone especially herself).
Over time, however, the need for Daisy Hoke becomes clearer for herself.
She begins to depend on him. This is certainly made clear at the end
when Hoke is feeding her Daisy pay pumpkin, and she enjoyed every bite
fully.
Another aspect of the film that came to me was the wide variety of options
the director did with the filming. Hoke is a character of few words
but Daisy teaches both. Morgan Freeman's character is acting in this
incredible. The knowledge that shows in his eyes is one reason that almost
felt closer to him that Daisy made throughout the first half of the film. In a
So, teaches her a new way of life. The makes it himself, showing
truly and honestly.
Another choice of director was symbolic in the way the film was made
.
The beauty of many seasons is shown through changes in the landscape
. The trees turn winter to spring and the streets are
of ice sheets in hot asphalt. And the cars get bigger and more high
Tech. Time is so important in Hoke and Daisy's affection and friendship that
this is a good way to prove it.
There are so many aspects of this movie that I could go on and on.
This is a wonderful film which anyone can obtain a fulfilling movie
see
experience. They can also learn a lot from it, too! Monitor
