A gang of armed drug-addicts break into a chemist shop to try and steal drugs to fuel their habit. However, the police arrive too fast and all addicts but one are killed. She, Maggie, is sentenced to death by lethal injection for killing a police officer, but she wakes up after the execution to find that she has been spared in order to train her as a government assassin. After a dramatic transformation, she is allowed to leave and start a new life for herself, on the condition that she always be on call for the government. However, she begins to discover that there is more to life than she previously thought and soon begins to wish she could escape from her obligation. But the government aren't so easy to evade...

La Femme Nikita is undoubtedly a great movie. . . but I think it's snobbery
call for
Point of No Return crap.

I found myself much more care for Fonda's character than the original
Nikita. Nikita was very dark and cold that worked for the vast
psychological emotion - but at the end of the film I do not feel as much compassion for
Nikita. Point of No Return is much warmer and love story

is more passionate. I think the Point of No Return
characters were better developed, but the action scenes could have been better.

I see the Point of No Return double what I watch La Femme Nikita.
They both are great films. If you like the darkness of action and / or turn your nose in
American remakes ... Nikita see. If you like a well-rounded movie with
action and a love story clock Point of No Return.
I thought this was a good movie, and I am glad that the film does not resort to
typical Hollywood ending that other Americans do remakes (even though
differed only slightly from the original " Nikita ").

Admittedly, I am biased in that I am becoming a big fan of Bridget Fonda.
And I agree with another reviewer that Fonda played a more likable character

than that in the original French.

Plus, the sound of the DVD is great, but the picture is grainy.

Ultimately, a good film that does not deserve all the mudslinging that has
obtained.
