Having seen Resident Evil god knows how many times, and
pretty psyched for the sequel finally came to see her, and the
premiere night, too. Of course, I knew that the director of the first
RE, Paul WAS Anderson, was not doing this because he was busy doing
his dream project, Aliens vs. Predator. Fortunately, I can cope with changes
as well as ... if the change is not devastating. For this film,
however, is difficult to know ... perhaps the mediocre
attempts to frighten the public and providing shocks Anderson was to blame, as he wrote the script
, but may be the new director, Alexander Witt first time, which is responsible
. Let me say this in advance, and I, like many others who
enjoyed the first, really liked the end, all the omens
thing, and fortunately, the film takes up exactly where the first left
. Actually, we do not need a little further back,
show us exactly what happened before Alice awoke. The plot is decent,
as good as it gets when Paul WAS Anderson wrote. Do not drag ...
eh, not drag ... Heck, do not leave home
the slightest opportunity to drag, as is in constant motion.
The film never allows the audience to catch its breath, apparently, someone (I'm guessing
Anderson or Witt) has never heard of the danger of overdoing
action sequences. Not even close (all) to be good, entertaining, exciting
, whichever is ... there must be respect to
as "buffers". Without those nice little talky-talky scenes in-between,
Heck, maybe even a dash of good old-fashioned character development,
action only ends up being trite. And that's all
what happens here. They are trying to squeeze as much action into every frame
possible, and that ends up disturbing the public rather than
exciting. The director also has a horrible habit of erasing the image
when there are more than five zombies on the screen, apparently to (I suppose
) cover up a bad job in makeup ... or something along those lines. If the first had too
makeup and such, it has very little. The
acting is sufficiently decent. Milla Jovovich gives the same performance
which usually does. The rest of the cast are acceptable. The
characters are mostly the cliches and stereotypes. Of course, for most
I mean almost 90% of cases. Tenes reporter
stupid that only wants to make a story out of all this, despite its obvious danger that
; The bad-ass that police suspended, but still has its duty
deadly serious; the middle of ingenious pathetic man who obviously exists only for
Comic Relief ... actually, scratch that last, as was actually pretty darn
fun. For once the person who is supposed to be there for
Comic Relief works, rather than simply be the most * * (or even worse;
less) the character laughable. The special effects were well done, but not spectacular
. Of course not the best I've seen. The action was good, but really
along the top. The scenes with the rank of Nemesis
being among some of the best action movie to be some of the most pathetic
smirk and inspiring scenes. The cinematography is nothing special
. The film presents an unnecessary amount of characters, most of whom are
only for fodder zombies or Nemesis anyway. The showdown between Alice and Nemesis
is something pathetic scene, and
probably would have seemed out of place, there was the rest of the film
been the same quality (honestly, looks like a video game and
... While I'm quite a big fan of them, I'm much more interested in playing
them to do). That big ol 'piece o' biologically engineered
walk at the same time the death was underdeveloped (hence
that had he / she do) and overexposed. The film is loud and noisy, but
not as strong as the first film, and although the sound is often horribly exaggerated
not distract as much as other major successes of action.
The film also is less strong when it comes to the banda sound, but it was nice to have some
change from the note of a strong * * heavy metals from the first film
. However, a film quite entertaining, but out of your mind
much faster than that obtained in (and that is saying a lot, believe me). If
liked the first, are a big fan of one or more of the players, or if
simply have nothing better to do for 90 minutes, give it a shot. Maintain
me watching until the end and, despite some disappointments,
kept my interest as well. Just did not stay fresh in my head for more than
about fifteen minutes after the credits started, which is very little
for a film with so much happening in all the time. I highly recommend
only for big fans of the first or Milla Jovovich. I suppose
big fans of Paul WAS Anderson (who must exist somewhere) probably also enjoy
. I will say that rather than like the first, probably as
this, but perhaps a little less due to lower direction.

Following the success of the 2002 film adaptation of a videogame
it was "Resident Evil" comes tantalizingly TRAILER its sequel,
'Resident Evil: Apocalypse ". I must say I am entranced by the
trailer for this movie. I thought that this movie took seriously the possibility of rising
over 'Mortal Kombat' (1995) and 'Resident Evil'
the best cinematic event for spawning a video game. 'Apocalypse'
not do everything wrong, but it certainly does not make it all right
.
Let's start with a brief synopsis. First, this film takes
literally days after the first drops us off. 'Apocalypse' opens with an explanation
rehash of what we have learned about the two main characters in the original
, Alice (Milla Jovovich) and Matt Addison (Eric Mabius).
Once again, we are told that this Umbrella Corporation is an international organization
super-power and that Alice is (or more accurately s)
the head of security in an underground research facility called " The Beehive, "which hosted
samples and research related to biological weaponry.
After that, we are treated to the scientists who wheeled away, Addison
in the closure of 'Evil', the opening of the zombie-infested annals of "< br> Beehive. " Immediately before the hearing 'know' what happens (
its pretty obvious and is given in recent photos of the first "RE")
transition in a military evacuation of personnel important
associated with Umbrella Corp. After a variety of events that do (and
at the same time not) move the plot line ( "no" is the lead scientist
wondering how bad the situation) . After this, we
introduced nearly a half-dozen other characters, including a
renegade police officer (Sienna Guillory), the remaining members of an elite task force
(Oded Fehr, Zack Ward ), A man stereotypical Black
(Mike Epps) and a hulking creature (which, if paid attention to the first
'RE', to be conscious of their appearance) who totes both a < br> - rocket launcher and a hand chain firearm called "Nemesis".
As far as the proceedings go, those actors and actresses do
well with the material given to them. Guillory has
Helen of Troy (not the movie "Troy") in his curriculum vitae, has Jovovich as Joan of Arc,
Fehr has the mummy hunter, Ardeth Bay of 'mom' and series EPPs
is credible in several comedies. There is no real emotion in the
script, so that viewers can not really ask for all the excitement of the players
(sadly true).
That's where 'Apocalypse' faces, and in many places, is part of
is expensive.
The plot is paper thin with almost none of the complications
hearing until the last ten minutes (which is an almost complete turn around
the original, which actually evoke
Some thoughts of the audience). It is basically releasing zombies in the city and shoot 'em up
. The small sub-plots actually vary little or no relevance in any
history. It is quite predictable that there is some kind of
'Oh no, my friend was bitten and, ultimately, you'll have to kill him
just before he bites me the situation, and the great action, or combination Parts are
blatantly created. The characters are thinner than the plot, with its arches that
straighten a steel arrow. Alice begins the film as
kick the ass of femme fatale, and the film ends up being ... oh, you guessed
, an ass-kicking femme fatal. Jill Valentine (Guillory) is another one of these
masculinely hard women, but not Alice's
super powers. The only real life that is drawn to writing is across the
epitome of black stereotypes, played by Mike Epps. It is sadly ironic,
however, that my favorite bit of 'Apocalypse' in reference to
another video game franchise.
Once again, 'RE: Apocalypse' is not entirely bad. Although few,
has its moments. Mike Epps has its funny lines and their only encounter with the
Nemesis brought laughter from the audience, which was something
needed in the film. The Nemesis was either a majority of the time
(although there is a bit when the big Oaf accidents through a wall and
piece of his head visible in reality changes on the shoulders of the actor) and
Makes a formidable villain for a good margin of the film (although his
closure is a bit weak). Many of the action sequences had great potential
... but most of these action scenes were cut fast, as much
"avp", so much so that it was very hard at times to see
exactly what was happening in the shooting.
'Apocalypse' just a lot more like an action film that makes
as a horror film, and struggling to maintain interest, even for someone who
Has faithfully played video games. I will be glad to admit, though
... "Revelation" is the biggest, most unexpected shock of 2004. I
not say when or where ... but I am glad that they have suffered.
'Apocalypse' is not exactly a value of eight dollars of
admission fee, but did not make a bad matinee...6/10 Saturday afternoon.
