Ted was a geek in high school, who was going to go to the prom with one of the most popular girls in school, Mary. The prom date never happened, because Ted had a very unusual accident. Thirteen years later he realizes he is still in love with Mary, so he hires a private investigator to track her down. That investigator discovers he too may be in love with Mary, so he gives Ted some false information to keep him away from her. But soon Ted finds himself back into Mary's life, as we watch one funny scene after another.

When this movie came out with all of PR and things I hated. I hated
without even seeing. Then, as happens with many movies, I took this in
Digital cable TV, by accident. I had no intention of seeing it, but once
not, I can not tell you how much I loved it.

This is the Farrley their brothers more fun. The idea is simple,
a guy (Ben Stiller) who had a crush on a woman (Carmen Diaz)
knew from high school and continued to yearn for her privately, finally get a chance
to try to return to what they never will.
This is something almost everyone can identify with.

What makes this work is its ... a cul hard to beat comedy. The Farrley
Brothers spared no one, male or female, disabled or physically fit,
black or white, rich or poor, working or not, straight or gay, animal or vegetable
blonde or brunette, educated or not. This is not a film to
not find one, it is not a punch line comedy or slapstick comedy, is the second
humor done very well because you will be laughing at what they
you should not think that no matter how much you want to say that never
they laugh at something like that.

Plus Farrley Brothers added "some things" that ... well ...
may have just happened to you at some point in their adolecence, and put a comic
/ crude quality to consider that the clashes that laugh at it. All across
the film may laugh, because you're thinking, "better than them
me "..... although you are!

Not eveyone for tastes, even for those who think they know comedy, but this is something that
comedy that is difficult to make once you've reached maturity and forgotten
what it was like to laugh at things simple. This is
as simple as it gets. Do not put too much on him, is what it is, and for me,
was really fun! Good Show!
"There's Something About Mary" is one of those movies that I have heard much about
but was able to shrug off. When he was released on video, I waited
about three months before renting. Then I realized I was waiting
mistake.

When a mischief with a child with mental retardation called Warren (W. Earl Brown
) almost becomes a struggle, Ted (Ben Stiller) in measures to help the student
disabled. Warren's sister Mary (Cameron Diaz) is very grateful
pushes ask you to prom. Ted is surprised, like most shocked, but fortunately
he accepts the invitation. A disaster participation "Franks and beans
" but takes place and date does not occur. Ted
never gets a chance to say goodbye as Mary's family moves to Miami. Years later, Ted is
therapy to realize that he is still madly in love with Mary.
The contract to a private detective named Healy (Matt Dillon) to track her down, but Healy
falls for her soon and moved to Florida to discuss their romance. He said
Ted is a disability, overweight, mail-order bride, but when Ted discovers
that is not true that he and friend Dom (Chris Elliott) head to Miami to locate
's love his life-Mary.

This is a very fun movie with gags that work better than most filmmakers could
. Directed by Bobby and Peter Farrelly have been gross
comic situations on the screen, and indeed they did humor, something that a lot of comedies
forget to do.

The strength of "There's Something About Mary" however, is not your
comedy. The story is very sweet. I was literally rooting for Ted
the end of the film, and there are not many movies I can say that about.
Matt Dillon's Healy is another strong character with a mustache and silly
too-perfect teeth. Then, of course, there Diaz. Mary has been
adored by so many people who should have had a huge ego, but she is so friendly and genuine
which has its head on straighter than most people. This is a
character who can not help but like, and it is clear that there is really
is something about Mary.

See the characters interact was fun, but often seem very real
. The scene where Mary Ted invites the prom is a perfect example, as
conversation seems really a conversation that could take place with the family
nervous clumsiness that we all feel. The Farrelly brothers
together with the screenwriter Ed Decter and John J. Strauss
all deserve credit for this real-life dialogue.

"There's Something About Mary" is one of the most fun you can have
watching a movie. These are two hours of comedy, great characters, some neat
songs, and a truly lovely story. It is one of my favorite movies of all time and
definitely my choice for best film of the year.
