After losing their payload the ramshackle, sinking, ocean-going salvage tug "Sea Star" takes refuge in the eye of a typhoon in an attempt to make repairs. Whilst trying to find help the tug, captained by Robert Everton ('Donald Sutherland' (qv)), discovers a Russian science vessel adrift in the eye. The crew believes their troubles are over and they are set for life when the captain informs them of the value of salvaging this apparent ghost-ship. However, the navigator Kit Foster ('Jamie Lee Curtis' (qv)) and the chief engineer Steve Baker ('William Baldwin' (qv)) are not convinced that it will be that easy. Once power is restored to the ship strange things start to happen and the crew mysteriously disappear one by one. It isn't until the discovery of the last remaining Russian crew member, the chief science officer Nadia Vinogradiya ('Joanna Pacula' (qv)), that the crew realise the enemy ranged against them isn't the Russians but something far more malevolent...

Do not take this movie too seriously, and the Virus is actually a pleasant
break, which pays tribute, excuse me, rips off venerable many of the films
same and similar genres.
It begins as an X-Files episode, becomes "The Perfect Storm,
Sutherland
is clearly inspired by crazy Quint in Jaws, then becomes the film Johnny
2.0
meets Robocop II and Aliens.
are drawbacks, of course, obvious - the lifestyle is behaving more like a
MORON space, a higher form of intelligence. If the latter,
simply have the whole crew in the serial port and Australia have had to
from there. Instead, "human beings are Viruses"
simply takes you down. Fastidio. Billions of miles of space travel, and gets a Best
Motley crew of a tugboat captain with an insane.
anyway, 21 years after Halloween, Jamie Lee still looks delectable
with a perfect figure. The rest of the crew are fun and charming in a
forgettable. Sutherland puts on the best act that takes years, which is not to say too
having been calling their performances since
JFK.
anyway, this movie is low on originality, but if you like the genre
over,
this is a rather pleasant diversion.
A story mediocre (ie, Titanic) can become a world class film
with the character development, dialogue and credible, for lack of a better word
, some Hollywood magic. This film could have been a success
with less action, less noise, less impact and more humans human.
View A Space Odyssey 2001, Tiburon, Titanic and countless other films,
and you'll see that the story was as interesting as the Virus, and
actors, equally talented. The Virus has not delivered
characters you could believe and identify with.
I highly recommend this movie, as his interesting, which contains
Jamie Lee Curtis (a girl) and Donald Sutherland (20
a century legend), a lot of effects and action . In a way its kind of fun to watch
quality players attempt to make the best of awful dialogue.
