A group of thieves steal a rare gem, but in the process, two of the men double cross the leader of the thieving group, Patrick (Sean Bean), and take off with the precious stone. Ten years later, prominent psychiatrist Nathan Conrad (Michael Douglas) is invited to examine a disturbed young woman named Elisabeth (Brittany Murphy). Patrick immediately kidnaps Nathan's daughter, forcing Nathan to attempt to get Elisabeth to reveal a secret number which will ultimately lead Patrick to the whereabouts of the precious gem that has eluded him.

This film offers in the department of emotion. It stars Michael Douglas
the lead role (and is well cast) as a psychiatrist whose daughter is
kidnapped by a group of men who want him to extract a six-digit number of
a disorders mentally young. Both sides then proceed to match wits in
route to a great climax towards the end of the film.

This is basa in the book of the same name. The book was pretty good, too.
I rank this film as a typical thriller with good turns.

This thriller is certainly good enough to voices and is also a
made very professionally, but nevertheless offers very little new or refreshing
enough material. It makes "do not say a word"
nothing more than a standard thriller, with some good actors in it.

The cast is really the saving grace of the film. It continues to offer
film with some good moments and characters and also the film
an extra sense of professionalism is concerned. Sean Bean is a big as the main villain
and offers a fine performance whatsoever. Michael Douglas is also
big as the leading man, especially because he does not play like him
a 'hero', but an ordinary person daily. Douglas is always
fine in such roles. Some other excellent players
some small parts of the film. Actors such as; Brittany Murphy, Oliver Platt
, Victor Argo and last but not least Famke Janssen. They help
to see the film better and more interesting for what it really
really is. Most of the characters are, however, quite flat. Why
Famke Janssen even play the wife? This is a function basically every actress could
had played. This film not only looks like a great challenge
original project or to participate. And also I feel that the film
which had been without the best of Jennifer Esposito.
Just thinking about it, it was really necessary for the film and its
history? His character is not enough participation, as it is not
we need to care about or to encourage, but the character of Michael Douglas instead
which is a prime example of the film. His character is distracting
the film its main story.

The film is certainly full of style and has its moments.
But in the end, really only remains flat as a very good or original
thriller. All moments of the film is too predictable and
the film does not offer any real surprises. To do so only
this movie is simply a fact well, but standard thriller formula.

It is a movie that does serve its purpose and the film is certainly watchable
as a simple standard thriller. Fans of the genre
probably the most entertaining of it, but have yet to
the conclusion that this movie is far from being one of the best thrillers
released in recent years. It's the sort of film that only
is quite good enough to see that perhaps only once. Do not expect too much from this
and could end taste good enough.

Nothing too remarkable, just a fact so simple thriller, with some
big players in it.
