Find a comfortable chair, lay out the board, grab the dice, and get ready to play
. But remember: once you start the game, can not be stopped. If you

"Jumanji" is inspired by the Caldecott Medal-winning children's book by Chris Van Allsburg
. The basic premise remains the same: a sister and brother
find a strange game based on a jungle safari adventure. When
start of play, they find that they can not stop, for the characters and events of the
game come to life and begin to fill your house with monkeys, lions,
explorers and other strange things. Just finish the game will
everyone leaves.

In the hands of Hollywood, more history is added. Now we have a game that covers
26 years, when one of two children playing the game in 1969
sucks in the game itself. He is stuck there until a new pair of children in 1995
find the game and start playing. The right number is rolled, and out comes
Alan ... as Robin Williams! Finding grown girls to complete the
group, the four must complete the game before their city was destroyed by
stampeding rhinos, murderer pods and vines crazed
Great White Hunter.

Robin has some good moments in this movie, although not allowed to riff
as much as in other vehicles. He is supported by an excellent cast, including a
young Kirsten Dunst as the sister of the new pair of children;
Jonathan Hyde as a parent, 1969, and Van Pelt, the Great White Hunter of the game;
modern and Bebe Neuwirth as the child's aunt. The effects are, not surprisingly
, ILM-best - necessary in a film of this type.
The script was co-written by Van Allsburg to ensure the atmosphere of the film and book
mesh, but not fall into the "This is my baby" syndrome, and
received good help from his two co-writers (for details, see the homepage).
Highly recommended for young and old alike.
"Jumanji" is a very original film that are the main attraction
outstanding special effects. They are extracted from a script that
just becomes a little devilish shows us when the rules of the game "Jumanji"
and when the ferocious creatures appear suddenly. It is a pity that the
director, Joe Johnston does not emphasize enough on the side of dramatical
history and the dangerous side of the game. Moreover, obviously
meant to tell this story in a tone of comedy. It's a good idea but not very well
exploited. You mostly laughs when you see the sheriff and
when he makes mistakes. He is only a decorative played a minor role in the plot
. Do not stop the film to contain the irresistible moments.
In the end, this movie is a good entertainment is confined to a plain
family comedy.
