I much preferred this sequel, but I liked the original,
also, as millions of viewers - for children and adults - did. This second edition
, for me, is better than the first
the following reasons: 1

- A faster pace of history; 2 - Improved colors, only one
magnificent 3-D effect on 3 points - another great combination of humor, adventure and romance
, 4 - not a segment of history overstayed its welcome; 5 -
Eddie Murphy ' s character was not played as much, at least
abrasive shouting in this movie; 6 - a real touch ending
left the viewer very satisfied.

Some of these qualities were all there in abundance in the first Shrek,
too, but the most complete package here. It's softer, Kindler,
Shrek movie softer than the first. Murphy is a funny guy, but his incessant talk
available at any of the nerves, but with less than say,
that did not happen in this sequel.
In many ways, Shrek 2 is for fairy tales, which Kill Bill: Vol.2 is the
Kung Fu genre. Although these are very different films, both parody
all previous films of its kind and is charged with insider allusions
(just look at the length of trivia IMDb sections for each!) . Both
use modern technology to create a hyper-real quality that goes beyond
their precursors to create a feeling that the viewer is watching
something that has not been seen before. But each also remains true to its genre
"formula conventions of character and plot that although
apparently exhausted, even love. As a result these films are
meet, meet some needs deep roots, but
novel and refreshing ways.

2004 may indicate a tendency in this type of treatment and TREAD
genres, with Westerns and black cinema as two other prospective candidates
.
