In a city where streets are overrun by drug dealers, those who have sworn to uphold the law are breaking them to clean up the streets. Denzel Washington plays L.A.P.D detective Alonzo Harris, a veteran narcotics officer whose methods of enforcing the law are questionable, if not corrupt. 'Training Day' follows Harris as he trains rookie Jake Hoyt (Ethan Hawk) over a period 24 hours. Ethical dilemmas arise for Hoyt as well as the audience as questions present themselves as to whether or not Harris' methodology for ridding the streets of South Central Los Angeles of drugs is right or wrong.

Before seeing this movie, I have the impression
Denzil Washington as an actor was not especially high. This does not mean that he is not talent, that only
Crimson Tide since it seemed perfectly slots in each
stern hero in every serious political thriller that Trotter
off the assembly line of study for years. But then came the Day of Training and
role of Alonzo Harris and everything that has changed. Shrugging off the excessively
would be a good boy image once and for all, here in Washington is a
revelation, a bark, Ranting maelstrom of police brutality that
believes that maintaining order in the streets the crime-ridden LA
means being even more ruthless that drug traffickers facing every day
. His performance raises the standard movie thriller fare
copy in a story that has quite rightly become one of the
my favorite movies of all time.

Set during twenty four hours, the movie whisks Ethan Hawke's
naive young police officer in an introductory workday Narcotics Control under the
Alonzo guardianship. As the time to go, Hawke undergoes
more and more violence because the heat and paranoia of the suburbs of Los Angeles
combined with his superior officer loose cannon play a heavy price in their nerves
. Accordingly, the film is largely of two men with a history
Hawke and Washington offside against each other as an expert
polar opposites. A young, inexperienced and a firm believer in the rule book
, the other older, more cynical and twisted all his years at
streets in a head-bull monster.

The story itself is fraught with tension. Alonzo forcing his young
protected smoking PCP at gunpoint is just the beginning and then
beats with the pulse strength never stops. The execution scene where Hawke
realizes how far ido your partner is, for example, is one of
nail biting pressure and shortly after his encounter with a trio of members

The end result is nothing less than a brilliant thriller . Hawke and
Washington for a double act phenomenal pace
and only occasionally allows the characters to allow time to breathe and
establish the depth that makes you charge them more. Very, very
recommended long as you are prepared to be absolutely terrified of
Denzel Washington in the coming years.
