Rise of the Footsoldier follows the inexorable rise of Carlton Leach from one of the most feared generals of the football terraces to becoming a member of a notorious gang of criminals who rampaged their way through London and Essex in the late eighties and early nineties. It is three decades of his life following him from football hooliganism, through to his burgeoning career as a bouncer, his involvement in the criminal aspects of the early 'rave' scene and subsequently to his rise to power as one of the most feared and respected criminals in the country. The story concludes with three members of his firm being brutally murdered in the infamous shot-gun slaying at Rettenden.

Woo, this is a violent movie (and I like that sort of thing), but
warned. Ill-i admit automatically (flinched) seemed far in a scene
and I saw some pretty horrific videos and not moved.Pizza
anyone!
Apart from this, the film portrays the thugs quite accurately.
It may seem over the top, but also some this is just what life was like in the days
tip of football violence in Britain. As someone who has lived in
a football obsessed city surrounded by football and witnessed casual
running street battles i thought the fight scenes were very well done.
if your unlucky enough to see this sort of thing in real life, then
will realise just how fear can be.
Shocked me as much as The Firm (Gary Oldman), although it did with The Firm
I felt a little of the characters (peer pressure, vulnerabilities
etc.) but with this film had no sympathy for what it never
for players in this story. Basically a lot of his nutters who won
what they deserve:)
Remember this is a true account basa in time and is seriously
brutal wild characters and moments. This was and remains
life for some people. Avoid if you can not handle the brutality of real life.
I went to see this Monday, and I thought what a great true crime
British history. The director made this film as faithful to live as possible, and he
has done a great job of doing, it really is fantastic story that most
Essex and London to know. The film, I think, shows you how
Essex boys lived there lives in Basildon, and how are filtered Carlton
exists on the part of life as well. It is true underworld films, many of
action. When I see this has not been sleeping for hours and went straight
work to see that I am not going to fall pray a dream,
kept me awake all the time, its action all the way.
The players played well all parties, Ricci Harnett played Carlton
played a big role, as do also terry stone (Tony Tucker) and Craig
as fairbrass (pat Tate) Roland manookian (Craig Rolfe) all played these guys
as the real guys Essex.
If you're a fan of true crime, and love of British cinema, then go see this movie
not listen to what the press says, make your own mind, and
I remember all this is true.
not
His great Hollywood movie, is a British film, and we do not see many
one of them.
I will go see this movie again.
Well done again to the director and writer and Julian Gilbey
