movie to their friends. Have an open mind, he told them, and have fun.

But God and his son were quite perplexed why so many people in the Bible Belt
of the community were so upset about "Life of Brian" --- especially those

But God gave Monty Python "Life of Brian" the power to overcome such adversity

is considered a comedy classic, and one of the best works of Python
. It is still * not * a movie for everyone, but have not been
to be? If you are in tune with the style of the Python comedy crazy, you
enjoy "The Life of Brian."

And praise be to Saint George Harrison, at the end of the Beatles, for
Pythons lending a hand in making this wonderful film. :-)
Monty Python's follow-up to his cult smash Holy Grail was the Life of Brian, a film that has
(though not always with the utmost seriousness, and then usually
with a mix of silliness and lightweight intellectualism) in
religious believers, the zealous belief that brings out in people.
For the first time I saw the movie in the theater after its re-launch last month, and
I thought was very funny, but not with the kind of belly laughs I had in my first reaction to
Holy Grail. It is not without scenes that stick
Python as some of the best (stoning, scenes of Pilate, the spacecraft sequence),
even if sometimes goes a bit too large for comfort (part of
colisseum).

However, the great strengths we have in the Life of Brian is that 1)
writers and performers (Chapman, Cleese, Gilliam, Jones, Idle, Palin)
its irreverent strengths to a fine point with the script and multiple functions.
Even when a scene was not the laughs that could or should have been, it
to be an arena full of intelligence that could only exist in the
"Python-esque" universe. 2) the director (Fool) and designer / animator
(Gilliam) to lay the groundwork for this atmosphere of realistic
AD 33 and highlight the best in acting, or other Pythons (famous
British Comedian Spike Milligan is a function of the note). Postponed to
joint Franco Zeferelli Christ of the film, the Pythons
use all these places and settings and small details in the spring with their wild, brilliant gags.
The look of the film enriches the comedy elements, and the result is
(possibly, of course) the company best film. Not for all tastes by the way
(Monty Python, in general, I took some time to heat, but paid
once worked). Grade: A
