As a favor to his longtime lover Dr. Susan Silverman, Spenser agrees to investigate the stalking of a theater company director, pro bono. But before he can get started, an actor is killed by an arrow in the middle of a play. Now that there's a real-life murder to investigate, Spenser and Hawk, get to do what they do best—even if it means death threats from the Chinese underworld, being ordered out of town by the tough local police chief (Eric Roberts), and dodging bullets and crossbows at every turn. By the time they leave the quaint ocean front community, the population has decreased by three, and live theater will never be the same.

Although Robert Urich captured the physicality of the character Spenser,

Joe Mantegna brings out the character of a flippant line and tranquillity
badass in a more mature. Mantegna calm, reasonable explanation of its
(Spenser's) job to the leader of a Chinese Tong is a dead-on perfect
novel film translation.

Unfortunately, some other parts of the film is not hang as well. I want
Ernie Hudson, but can not buy him as Hawk. But then again, which could continue
Avery Brooks image of the character? If Brooks was not prepared to
reprise their roles, then you should have been renamed and given to another
actor who could have done theirs. And Spenser's visions
should have been more integrated into the plot. Was he seeing these visions as
warning that should leave the private eye biz?

Minor qubbles hand, I loved Walking Shadow as I loved all of A & E's
Spenser movies and I hope to continue to produce. Joe Mantegna
seems as if he really comfortable playing Spenser and he throws them out
smart ass / sarcastic lines REAL good. I luv ya, Joe ..
All I can say is this movie is very good. It is the fifth 3 of the series
Spencer movies, and is the best. Eric Robert's why I saw this

and he is a great actor in this great movie on A & E. Joe Montene is impressive as
Spencer and the rest of the cast is so good. I am glad that have made these films enemy

A & E. It is a trhiller about a fact that he and you will be a

little surprised at the end. I was really in the history and suspence and
just around the big old cast. A must see for anyone who loves
crime stories. Our 4-star I 3 1 / 2 stars. Watch
