This story is a narration from an Australian man who falls in love with two kinds of Candy: a woman of the same name and heroin. The narrator changes from a smart-aleck to someone trying to find a vein to inject, while Candy changes from an actress, call girl, streetwalker, and then a madwoman. Starting in Sydney, the two eventually end up in Melbourne to go clean, but they fail. This leads them to turn to finding money and heroin, while other posessions and attachments become unimportant.

Dan, the eagerness poet (Heath Ledger), falls in love with a beautiful art student
named Candy (Abbie Cornish, a revelation). While they live a wild
love story, are addicted to heroin. With the help
(aka providing drugs), Casper (Geoffrey Rush, superb), a gay
professor, who realize they have no borders and that this addiction
could put their love story to ruin.

Neil Armfield is a name to be vigilant. Con''Candy'',
proving to be a talented director. Switching across various states of the main character
, Armfield indirectly introduces us to the world of
drugs and the world of perdition. He also gives us some sparks
Dante Aligheri de''La Divine Comedy''as shown in Heaven, Earth, and Hell
as the characters pass the transformation of heroin.

One could argue that this is a sweet hard to swallow. Sometimes
shocking and gut wrenching, Armfield never puts his guard and
still giving us the full sense of a life is lost. As the film
passes, Candy and Dan become slaves. Unable to each other, but to drugs.
Their suffering is shown to perfection, thanks to Armfield
safe direction.

The cast is the best way possible. Abbie Cornish is a big surprise, and successfully
Candy plays to perfection. First, an innocent, beautiful angel
. Then, a lost lover. Heath Ledger and Geoffrey Rush are
magnificent as ever. However, it is impossible not to add that
Ledger is still not perfect as the poet addicted. Perhaps
did not have enough time to work with nature, but despite that is excellent, he is
not yet exist.

If there is any film I never recommend to discourage someone
heroin or even trying to arrest someone who is doing this is the
I would like to show the film.

I was a little blasé when my girlfriend chose this week as the film
need to see, personally I really wanted to go see Superman Returns
, possibly because there was Heath Ledger in the same, possibly because
is just another druggie movie. I'm still not sure whether we should just
ido to see Superman, because it was not a bad movie,
quite the opposite. I must say that this is one of the best movies I've ever seen
(and that is a claim I know), but I do not think I can play again
.

That said, let me recommend to you all. This is a brilliant piece
, frighteningly realistic, intense and very powerful.
I never wanted to try heroin and every time this film certainly hit home.
If I ever hear someone say you want to try, I usually only
called an idiot and get out by himself, but now I think
absolutely go beyond them. This film certainly can not be accused of glorifying
drugs.

Heath Ledger and Abbie Cornish this movie made entirely their own.
Their chemistry is sometimes absolutely beautiful and wonderful, and at other times
terrifying and unnerving. The number one
this movie left me feeling very uncomfortable and was also a bit worried.
And I think that is exactly what this movie was trying to do, realism
is better. Berthold Brecht himself could not have done better himself.

I've never seen Abbie Cornish in anything else before this, but if your
another job is as bright as his performance as Candy in this movie, I
point in his direction. Abbie was absolutely brilliant, especially
in the range of emotions and personalities who had to represent.

My only criticism of this film (if you could call a criticism) is
that may be too realistic (it is almost as if someone just
filmed this pair of life and put it on the film) and some scenes
might be somewhat disturbing for some people but I think it is the
point of the film. Call it a warning.

I know that this is not exactly the most well written exam and I hope that
makes sense, but this is a movie that I was really motivated to
write an opinion on the merits and I would recommend it to anyone.
