All the Who's love Christmas, yet just outside of their beloved Whoville lives the Grinch. The Grinch is a nasty creature that hates Christmas, and plots to steal it away from the Whos which he equally abhors. Yet a small child, Cindy Lou Who, decides to try befriend the Grinch.

If you are going to this movie to see some major Academy Award presentation
well ... Oh .. but if I wanted to see a fun
delicious adaptation of an old classic, loves .. Jim Carey was
incredible, as usual. The story was great, some parts added as
history Grinch become even better. Ron Howard
never lost a beat .. But while there were some comments adults and division
added, it is Supposed to be a family or children's show. Try not to lose sight that if
.. Usually really enjoy the film ... and on
remarks about Ron Howard, trying to steer a major film and see how it does
.. is not easy as it seems ...
Ron Howard directs this? The 1966 cartoon is charming, teaching
a simple lesson to children using a simple plot. In this film, Howard gives us a
Whoville full of greedy, manipulative, egocentric
Que. Jim Carrey is terrible, but I am sure that is not his fault;
I imagine the script called for Nastiest person imaginable, so Carrey
channeled Tom Green and the result is movie magic. Like
Danny DeVito's Penguin in Batman Returns, Carrey's Grinch is so thoroughly
unlike any degree of comedy that could be extracted from its
character simply evaporates. If the 1966 included a cartoon Grinch
we could all identify with, Carrey is the Grinch that angry, elderly
soul we have all seen at one time or another, sitting in a parked car muttering
himself or tripping in young children
supermarket with his cane. This Grinch is completely devoid of any
degree of humanity, humor, or any idea, and redemption to
the end of the film rings false. The whole movie rings true: no
some stupid Christmas lights competition, a failed attempt in
explain why the Grinch is a stretch of digging in its infancy,
and an indecipherable mystery of why some of those who
strange lips extension and some do not. Unlike the 1966
cartoons, I imagine that children find this movie boring,
irritating, and full of conflicting messages. Do we really need to see
Slutty Smurf, aka Christine Baranski as Martha May Whovier?
In addition, Ron Howard fills the sky with his family untalented.
The shot required by the butt jokes, fart jokes, sex jokes, and other mandatory under
Carreyesque front humor, and you have a film that is
so far from the caricature 1966 (or book that inspired him) as George W.
Bush is rational, lucid thought. Thumbs down on this big fat
Turkey.
