Okay this is not the most historically accurate movie of all time.
That is true. But there are a number of historical details
not to mention tremendous suspense in this great film. Harrison Ford plays Alexi
Vostokov a controversial Russian submarine captain in the 1960's that is put in charge of Russia
the first nuclear sub. There is an enormous amount of controversy
especially given the fact that the former captain played by Liam Neeson
is now the second in charge.

The film is very suspenseful. There are a lot of emotions much
moments of tension with the sub and the people in the sub. The special effects
in the shipment were phenomenal, but unlike many movies today the special effects
not attempt to compensate for the lack of a bad script or acting
work. Some of the film was not as accurate, although there is much that is

was an all around great movie. This is one of the best Harrison Ford
functions and he and Liam Neeson are stiff to the Oscars in 2003. Both
made good. If someone tells you that this is a stupid movie
not listen to them. This is a very underrated movie entirely that will have you
edge of the seat for more than two hours. This is a very well done film director Kathryn Bigelow
has done a great job.
This movie reminded me more of "Gloria" from "Game of Red October" or
"Das Boot
