Echoes of "Madame Bovary" in the American suburbs. Sarah's in a loveless marriage, long days with her young daughter at the park and the pool, wanting more. Brad is a househusband, married to a flinty documentary filmmaker. Ronnie is just out of prison - two years for indecent exposure - living with his mother; Larry is a retired cop, fixated on driving Ronnie away. Sarah and Brad connect, a respite of adult companionship at the pool. Ronnie and Larry have their demons. Brad should be studying for the bar; Larry misses his job; Ronnie's mom thinks he needs a girlfriend. Sarah longs to refuse to be trapped in an unhappy life. Where can these tangled paths lead?

Bedrooms still play an important role in Todd Field, but this universe
time there is an exit, intellectual and emotional, that exceeds
the patina of seeming familiarity. "Little Children" with a sizzle
uncomfortable feeling of imminent doom. Kate Winslet, through its subsequent
day Madame Bovary, gives us a character who is recognizable and
never seen before, at the same time. PODER honest to the point of self-destruction and
, however, his feelings seemed so clear and pure, so innocent.
Kate Winslet in a superlative performance, invites us to believe that a
human being can live without contradiction that seems absurd. Patrick
Wilson's courage without a brain or vice versa is an uncomfortable
the pleasure of seeing. Jennifer Connelly has one of the most chilling
internal moments I've seen in a long time: a moment of realization in a
table. The contradictions, perhaps, are at the center of this universe

so many people seem to leave their inner world, "Little Children"
ends with a sense of hope and optimism. In other
domestic dramas, the characters are often unlike, and which seem
drift through their worlds that allows things to happen to them
without taking any responsibility themselves. In "Little Children", on the ground
not present us with a handful of caustic stereotypes, but rather
with a cast of actors who create hot but flawed human beings. These
characters drift through life. They have things that concern them, and
they want and feel they deserve some of the small happiness
that all human beings are entitled to receive. But screw,
make bad decisions, to act irrationally. What saves them, and the film is that in the end
all wake up, realize that we are chasing dreams, and to decide
do something in life that take place in life they think
they want.

I thought this was a hopeful message, and that carries a
tremendous impact in this post-9/11 culture, where safety nets in
we have built our stocks have booted from under us and left
we're trying to make sense of a terrifying world. This film, in its closing moments
, states categorically that there is no time like now to begin
take control of our own worlds and make them what we want.
The best weapon we can exercise against an uncertain future are our children,
we can learn from our mistakes and do something new rather than simply repeat
an endless cycle.

As for the acting Kate Winslet ..... shines as Sarah, the suburban mom
that does not fit in and embarks on a reckless affair to fill a void in their
days. His performance is one of those small triumphs of acting in

simply focuses on the responsibilities that parents need their children,
film goes deeper and examines how parents affects his behavior
children and the extent to which parents can change the world for good or bad
through what they convey to children who inherit. A brace
