This film adaptation of Jonathan Larson's Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award winning rock opera tells the story of one year in the life of a group of bohemians struggling in modern day East Village New York. The story centers around Mark (Anthony Rapp) and Roger (Adam Pascal), two roommates. While a former tragedy has made Roger numb to life, Mark tries to capture it through his attempts to make a film. In the year that follows, the group deals with love, loss, AIDS, and modern day life in one truly powerful story. Rosario Dawson, Jesse L. Martin, Idina Menzel, Wilson Jermaine Heredia, Tracie Thoms, and Taye Diggs also star.

I saw an early detection hire tonight in Toronto and loved it!
I had seen the musical several times and I do not think that the movie could live up
to work. I am mistaken, the film was incredible!
I wanted to applaud after every number and I cried so much as I did when I saw the game
. This film does not hide the fact that this is a
musical, the characters break into song walking down the street,
in the subway or in a restaurant. I did hear some people discussing the movie
afterwords saying they had to hold in laughter each time a
characters began singing at random. I must say that was a bit strange
although knowing each line of a movie the first time you see it. If
are a big fan of Rent as I know the original CD and heart
you are talking and singing along with the film. This film is a solid 10
and truly lives up to the music.
I thought it was brilliant. I am a big fan of the stage version, but I felt
largely the same in seeing the film. i did lose some favorite moments
who had been eliminated, but I feel like the movie worked
completely! Wish I could already own! I felt like Jesse L.
Martin and Adam Pascal were amazing to watch. I like the whole world, but those two
really stood out for me. breaking out in song is not clumsy at all
and the sentiments of the entire movement of all worked really fair.
I feel like Christopher Columbus actually remained faithful to the general feeling and
really stayed true to the fans. I was glad to be so moved by a movie.
I cannot wait to hear more response from fans .... new or old.
