After an airplane trip, a young woman asks Susie's husband, Sam, to keep a doll for her to avoid spoiling the surprise of her daughter's gift. But the real reason is to avoid her partner, Harry Roat, whom she hopes to cheat of the drugs hidden in the doll. Harry discovers her treachery, murders her and leaves the body in Susie's apartment, where he has tracked Sam and the doll. He concocts an elaborate plan, involving Mike and Carlino, small-time hoods, to get Susie, who recently lost her sight in a fire, to reveal the doll's hiding place. They lure Sam away and take advantage of Susie's blindness, posing as an old friend, a police detective, and a father-son pair of eccentrics. Susie eventually catches on and, with the help of her young neighbor, Gloria, shows everyone that she is indeed "a world-class blind lady."

Wait Until Dark is a wonderful movie thriller, which explores different modes of
sensation. Having a blind woman as the central character allowed Terrence Young
options with lots of angles and lighting. However, I think the
sound in this movie was carefully exploited as identifying an item
and a blind instrument of our heroine.
then set out principles of crime and the origins of the
invaluable wrist. The radio is heard in the background is the main audio
marginal element in the apartment where the package is built. For
noise we can say the establishment somewhere in France, hence,
establishing an international drug plot. The radios until
size of the playing field, and later the ambiguity regarding all key players.

Later, when Roat (Arkin) goes back into the closet, opening the door reveals
Lisa (wrist carrier) stuffed in a body bag, hung on
a coat hanger. She is clearly dead, but its lifelessness
seems to be the center of this picture. As Roat begins to fiddle with the bag, the next cut
Suzy shows in his room listening to the tracks. We hear the body tumble
the position pendant with a thunderous Thud. Despite the fact that no witness
falling body, this technique creates an audio standpoint. We hear
(and see) what the main character who, in turn, we can infer
the seriousness of the situation.
It is interesting to note that the nature of basa Hepburn was totally smell, touch and
noise to understand and communicate. The surprise in the film is
that in many cases, the information is part of the hearing so that we can
appreciate the struggle of this character endures. Only the announcement in rechinan
Roat shoe after it was mentioned, but remember that children used to cut road
shot in the shoe and the reaction of Suzy before she avoid the disclosure of this discovery.
blinds are used as a way to communicate silently in the van across the street
, but later Suzy reveals that she was suspicious of his constant use.
When she finally knows that a van outside, Suzy breaks in terror
with a sense of pity. It seems that it almost feels sorry for herself by
not know the sooner this element. We do not expect to feel this way, but her husband
diligent could expect more of 'the world champion blind
lady'.

A dark thriller seeds.

My title sums it all up. I was very surprised by how well this movie was.
I found it very similar to a movie like "Rear Window". Another person
comments was titled "The best Hitchcock film Hitchcock never made." This
think it's very true. Most of the film was shot in this
basement apartment unit. And the thriller is so great because of being blind
Hepburn and these three bad guys walk freely in the drive and the introduction of
themselves as her husband's friends, or police or a neighbour. But they all
forget one thing: She uses her ears as any normal person does, she does not need
eyes. But that is where you start the thriller in
Sometimes it's very painful for us to see (we can see) because she seems so vulnerable
. Packaging
around all this is Henry Mancini music. The
is using a technique that is also used in the film "The Night Visitor", where there is this
melody on the keyboard and after everynote there Detune
footnote below. Pretty cool.
One thing I have not had however, there is a scene where the waiting room
quite dark and Alan Arkin still has his sunglasses.
I loved this movie, 10 of 10.
