Download Movie Where's the Party Yaar?Harish Kumar Patel lives with his mom and dad in Bhimnagar, Gujerat, India, where he is studying Electronic Engineering. His dad, Satish Kumar, wants him to re-locate to the U.S., live with the Bakshis, study, and marry the girl of his choice. Harish must first go through the blessings of an Astrologer, Bholey Shankar Maharaj, who blesses him, informs him that he will meet a girl whose name will start with "P", who he will marry. An overly excited Harish travels all the way to Houston, Texas, U.S. where he is met fondly by the Bakshi family, consisting of Mrs. and Dr. Bakshi, Mohan, and Deepu. In keeping with the fear and paranoia after the September 11 attacks, Mrs. Bakshi has made it a practice to place American flags in the front pockets of her sons, and she does it now for Harish as well. Mohan is around Harish's age and shows him around the campus. Harish meets with a beautiful Malyalee girl, Priya, and falls in love with her. But things do not go as planned when Harish finds out that Mohan actually is a snob, who hates F.O.Bs. (Fresh off the Boat) Indians like him; the girl Priya is actually in love with another young man by the name of Raju, and her name's not Priya - it's Supriya; and due to Harish's accent, oily hair, & c. he is not being invited to the party where everybody else is invited. Looks like Harish is headed for more pitfalls than he had bargained for, and it also looks like the Maharaj may have been wrong after all.

I agree with one of the previous posters who say that the Indians
either born and / or raised in americas (and the United Kingdom, Canada) are
those who have much harder then FOBS. The modern FOB is not like the way
that are portrayed in this movie. The character of Hari in "Where is the
Party Yaar? "It is as obsolete contemporary standards. From the
late 90s (around 1998 and 1999) Fobs became much more hip
and educated, and many of them may even be in better physical shape as well as a
dress better then a lot of Indians who were born and raised in
americas. That's no joke, I am totally seriously. Plus
to see how Western culture is exported to the rest of the world.
I am saying that India today is not like India of the 80 and 90, where a television
had an entire people who picked up two channels
that reached all Scratchy and out of focus . Today India has all the
current pop culture, and even doubt that you see on the streets selling
accounts elephant crap has a cell phone. My grandmother in
India has a cell phone! So when the Indians come along and become americas
"fresh off the boat" so to speak, the term is almost retroactive.
There are, of course, still some old school Fobs here and there to walk around
wear pants, white sneakers, and some sort of garish orange
shirt, but come on man are much more a rarity these days. "Where is
Party Yaar? "'re using the old school, pre-Late 90 FOB as
focus point. This is not 1982, 1985 or even 1995, when that old style FOB
was still running around while the "cool" American Indians
bragged about being closer to the white man (or closer to the Black man bandit). The 21
century FOB is not like the FOBS who were around back
during the 80's and 90. What makes someone a FOB? Most people cutting
I know traditionally used was that, if you came to americas
when you were 10 or older, then you are an FOB. But modern

FOBS have their own cliques in these days, and hang out
party and more than a pile of ABCDs do. Much of this has to do with
that so many young people around Fobs say then, there was again
in 1985 or 1990. They push the "Desi" culture, which is not incorporated
All-American or not really old style of Apu Simpsons FOB India,
the only two options "be" many of us who grow up in
80 years and has 90. They certify culture as Desi bonafide cool. A lot of young
Corro Fobs constantly look down the Indians of americas raised. They
say that we have no culture, we are either "too white" (if you are a preppy
India) or "too Black" (if you are a bandit India). Hey
that may be something. No matter what, will always be Indians, especially
White americas and the rest of the world. This is us Indians
that were raised in the United States who are struggling to fit in more than
FOB. The FOBS have their heritage and history much stronger
within them then most of us do ABCDs. They know they are Indians and that
are proud that most of us born and raised in the United States
not know what the hell we are.
OK, I do not understand why people are so offended by this film. Perhaps
i can not talk about being a target of Canada with German and Italian
background .. But I have a good Indian friend, with whom they work
lots of Indians and I'm almost in contact with them every day.
do any of you realize that most of the actors were Indians? Why
want to be in a movie so offensive to his own people. I like movies like this
with culture ... But it is hilarious because you're not doing
fun of the Indians, Paks, Sri Lanka, etc. .. They are simply laughter
the stereotypes about them ... It's like me with a fund mediteranien
seeing "my big fat Greek wedding" i can relate and laugh a lot more
with that movie ... Why not make fun of the Greeks
laughter is the way they are crazy ... You get what I'm saying? My friend is an Indian
proud, speaking Punjabi Sikhs and who really loves this kind of
movies ... If he is not offended I do not see how anyone is.
