Jack (Daniel Day-Lewis) lives on the site of his abandoned island commune with his 16-year-old daughter Rose (Camilla Belle). Jack has sheltered Rose from the influences of the outside world, but now Rose's emerging womanhood poses troubling questions about the days ahead. A man who has lived a life motivated by environmentalism and other altruistic causes, Jack now rages at those who do not share his concerns, like developer Marty Rance (Beau Bridges), who is building a housing tract on the edge of his property. When Jack invites his girlfriend Kathleen (Catherine Keener) and her sons Rodney (Ryan McDonald) and Thaddius (Paul Dano) to live with them, Rose feels betrayed and the situation quickly becomes precarious. Rose acts out wildly, creating chaos. As everything flies out of control, Jack finds himself trapped in an impossible place and is forced to take action.

My choice for the male Oscar winner so far this year is Daniel Day-Lewis as
an eccentric father of a girl in early The Ballad of Jack and Rose
.

I do not think the Bard suggests incest in the menu
Prospero and Miranda, but in this ballad father and daughter in a single remote control
peninsula off the east coast not we are fighting only
real estate developers and enthusiasts dad, they are dealing with incestuous feelings
so subtly told that even our president delicately Christian
could not be offended.

I have five beautiful daughters in the most healthy relationships, but
that a single man with a bright, loving, free spirit
daughter could go to the dark side of genius This parable about the difficulties
those living outside of societal norms, which are sometimes fortunately
Baser restrictive instincts.

Day-Lewis protagonist of the conflict is a wonderful piece of acting,
best of his career, and the most interesting this year.
I am an addict a movie Indy, and was iffy about seeing this because
the above description, but on a whim I bought and seen
and fell in love. The story of Jack and Rose is said and so beautifully
perfectly that as the story progressed, I found
the hope that something would change, or hope for some plot twist not saying that rose
was his daughter, because I really wanted those two to work. The
devotion between father and daughter is extraordinarily portrayed,
Daniel Day-Lewis was perfect and I can not imagine that anyone in this movie.
Once I watch for the first time I found myself almost in a
Daza, the progression of Rose whole being is a delicate matter that
is handled beautifully. There was a feeling of tension that over
called me in. I've never fallen in love with a movie like this before.
Bravo to the writer and cast and all participants.
Thank you for this beautiful film about love, loss and culture change.
