saw Punch Drunk Love at the Gothenburg Film Festival today and I was
totally overwhelmed by it. I had really looked forward to because I love Paul Thomas Anderson
previous films. Magnolia is still among my top five favorite movies
and whenever my expectations were, therefore, almost too high.

We must admit that I was skeptical of Adam Sandler playing a major part. But he makes fantastic
interpretation of his character Barry Egan,
a small business owner
pushed around their seven (!) Sisters that
miserable life takes a turn when he meets the love to Emily Watson's character. Watson
makes a beautiful portrait of the mysterious and lonely that Lena falls in love with

Barry.

The film is not only well acted, is also wonderful to see. The
camerawork is truly exquisite and Anderson shows his visual talent. All
within half an hour of film could be frozen and displayed

as a work of art. But the most impressive thing in the movie is still
Adam Sandler. Every word, expression and nuance is perfect and true. If this
does not deserve an Oscar nomination now I will not. His performance
is higher than the last five winners.

Punch Drunk Love is the way that a movie should be. It's the way you want all
were like the movies and I would hang on my wall. The poster

Paul Thomas Anderson in Punch-Drunk Love is a fascinating film. Perhaps the best
2002 film - and one of the best drama / romantic comedy-
never to hit the silver screen.

PT Anderson is an absolute genius. A teacher and talented film-maker.
Boogie Nights and Magnolia, two previous films Anderson,
was absolutely awesome. Boogie Nights, in particular, was a complete
masterpiece. And Punch-Drunk Love is no exception, another masterpiece
so it is fast becoming one of the world's top directors.
I can not wait for everything he does another.

Also, it is difficult to overstate the performance of Adam Sandler.
I am confident that this will go down in history as his best work ...
that will be extremely difficult at first. Ironically, never thought that this
because the film starring Sandler. (I only watched because of my respect for
PT Anderson - and still waiting 3 years to see it!).
I love most of Sandler comedies, but I could not even imagine
in a romantic film, I thought it would be horrible. I could not have been more wrong
. I was not prepared for this incredible performance, as he
stole the show from the opening scene. I can not remember ever leaving a
the film is more impressed with the principal actor. It was simply brilliant, a
truly fantastic performance.

On the other side, Emily Watson, such as caring Lena,
was wonderful as well. I have the feeling we're going to see much more of it, as she had a panel
performance here in the PDL. I thought at first that she
almost seemed too beautiful to put up with the antics of someone like
Sandler's character (as would be in high demand with men), but then we see
the extravagant on your side too, and everything is
together. Great touch.

I recommend this movie to anyone over the age of 25. If you are a teenager
the hope that a few laughs from Sandler, you will be deeply disappointed
. Buying the film, save it in your closet and pull
that at the time to reach 30 - and he likes at all! And please do not let
"romantic comedy" frighten you (as it does me). I almost refuse to see
romantic comedies, but this is very different. Romance and
comedy, it is certainly not the first things that come to mind when I think of this movie
. It is a drama filled with tension and embarrassment. This is an edifying and
, however, shocking film. To the mind intellectually, I can not recommend that
enough.

In a side note, this movie is an example of why the Academy Awards
is full of garbage. No nominations for this brilliant movie? That is a crime.

"Director of the Year" in 2002 the appointment of Paul Thomas Anderson? I
not buy it. All this is a farce, a softened popularity contest.
