Two for the Money is a decent, diverting the image. The material sometimes seems a bit
below these fine actors, but the film ends up hitting
enough of the right notes to make it worth seeing.

Matthew McConaughey seems a bit out of his league in the same
screen with Al Pacino and Rene Russo. At the end of the film, you
more likely to feel that he is more than held his own, however.
McConaughey plays a former college football star who sees their chances of a
career destroyed by a serious injury. The
quickly found himself picking college football games for a low rental online betting.
With all his previous experience as a player, he does pretty well with
. Well enough to attract the attention of Al Pacino, who carries out a more
scale operation in New York. At the end of the first half hour,
McConaughey is to collect all kinds of football winners, and making Pacino
a ton of money. Predictably, this success does not last long as much
various egos spiral out of control apuestas and in turn, the gods
our heroes, as they ultimately do to us all. The film is more a character study
on the minds of players and the loss of identity of what is
on the actual functioning of an organization of betting. In general,
works in a couple of different levels.

Pacino is fine, but not as out of control, as hope.
His character has a bad heart, so any Pacino
typical tantrums are not really the end for him. The contribution as much dignity as can be the role of a player
addict, however. Rene Russo is his tremendous
long-suffering wife and a former Junkie. Pacino in some points
seems to be trying to lose his McConaughey. He is one of the terribly affected
players who only feels alive only when lost everything
bet on it. The supporting cast is pretty good, too. Jeremy Piven
is always appreciated, and so is the emergence of Armand Assante.

The best scene of the film takes place in a support group meeting
betting that its new Pacino and protected in place. Pacino, being a desperate
own player shows empathy towards these degenerates, then
has the nerve to move his business card for them! The logic
I suppose to be that if people have to lose, you might as well do it
across a fellow player degenerate.

The biggest flaw I realized it was too many shots of McConaughey, without
in his shirt. Yes, the boy has great abs, but we do not need to see
so much of them! In general this is a good film with some interesting things to say about
people who bet. Notice how in the end, the "experts" are
really like the guys take the calls. During the big games,
we are all sitting there with a beer in his hand, hanging on every
first fell down or ball.

7 of 10 stars.

The Hound.
