Back in early 20 century, the Lumière brothers did not have a clue what it
who were playing with. Freaking I am sure that if anyone could have
magically told them that thanks to your work, a film like 'Alien'
made in the future, both would have died from
a sudden, shocked by the consequences of their work, as an honest scientific
if he shows a misuse of their research.
In that sense, but in the best way imaginable, 'Alien' is the atomic bomb.

In my opinion, 'Alien' is the only film in the history of cinema
. Of course, this might be debatable, but of all the films I've seen
since she was born, this is the only one in which
I have not been able to find the slightest fault. It gets a golden ten of ten.
Bright, strong and massive.

could go with a panegyric, but I'll try to be brief and precise:

The location is just perfect. Each shot is wonderful, every move
the camera is impressive. There is absolutely nothing you could add or subtract
. Touch, and dispossession. Seriously.

is splendid. The actions build a credible world
centuries away. I do not know about you, but this will in future be
unveliabably acceptable. Sigourney Weaver is more than a revelation,
John Hurt is a teacher, and the rest are nothing short of wonderful.

The script is a work of art, history is mesmerizing,
well constructed, well-developed, free of twists and absurd. His
simplicity and effectiveness are still, 25 years later, to be matched.

The atmosphere is pure genius. Gothic, claustrophobic and sometimes
Baroque. The use of light and darkness is beyond description,
use of the sound is as creepy as it becomes.

The FX are the best for 1979. At the time of release, some scenes were beating
stomach.

score. Jerry Goldsmith's work coincides with the images so well that
seems to bleed them. It is and will be the best banda sonora
for a sci-fi Stir in space ever.

The motto. "In space, nobody can hear you scream." It is a slogan.

And, of course ... abroad. The only living creature that can steal
Weaver movie. Its design is the most innovative I've seen.
Has generated tens of imitations shameful. This is the real business. Not only
appearance, but the complete design of a way of life, including
biological characteristics. Acid instead of blood. Jaws within jaws.
What more could you possibly want? This is how a film is done.

A very good sign of a film that has passed into history is the amount of
collectively and recall scenes. Well, 'Ali' has so many
that I will not go into it. This film contains many scenes that iconic
has become an icon itself.

So, what else? I urge all young directors to see this movie a zillion times
, as I have done, and take notes over all. But not to rip
beyond, as many others have done, but to learn, learn,
learn, learn and learn how a film should be done. 'Casablanca'?
You must be joking.

Oh, I almost forget! There is a lovely cat in it.

RATING: 10
Alien received mixed reviews when it debuted in 1979 - largely on
science fiction critics who accuse him of being little more than a
class on Friday the 13 th in outer space, a blood and gore - horror movie
given a futuristic spin through special effects. But while these accusations have
more than a little truth, has been an incredible
influential film - and still today, following the CGI effects,
still holds very, very well.

The story is well known: the crew of a ship interstellar
responds to what seems like a distress signal, only to encounter a remarkable
lethal Alien life form that their boards ship security and sets about picking them off one by one
. Some of the special effects are weak (
Alien spacecraft and the android "rebirth" are quite notorious). There is little in the way
development of character, the film has a fairly slow pace, and
story itself is predictable, usually you can guess who will die next
.

Peres. The art designs are incredible: the whole aspect of the film,
the commercial nature of the spacecraft to the foreign
own iconographic (brilliantly provided by Giger) is right on the money.
Director Ridley Scott encouraged his cast to ad lib from the script,
and the result is a surprising sense of realism - and the slow pace of the film
and predictability of the story gives
a sense of relentless and increasing paranoia that is much greater than
the tight sets and camera set-ups. With its strange mixture of womb-like
organic matter and mechanical cold, Alien is a film calculated to send even slightly claustrophobic
most spectators in an attack of hysteria.

entire cast led by Tom Skerrit and Sigorney Weaver, is very, very good
- and the film abounds with memorable images and scenes ranging
of John Hurt's encounter with the Skerrit Alien egg to the search for the vessel
airways Weaver to the terrifying race against time as the ship
countdown to self-destruction. Seldom has any film been so consistent
design, casting, direction, and out and out fear factor, and although certain aspects of Alien
are open to legitimate criticism the end result is sufficiently
powerful to put in a full five stars.
A word of warning, however: you have to send their children to his bed.
And you probably half the night after! Recommended
