As part of this project, medical biologist Susan McAlester (Saffron Burrows) rather naughtily figures out a way to genetically embiggen shark brains, so that cancer-battling enzymes can be harvested. However, the shark subjects become super smart and decide they don't much like being cooped up in pens and being stabbed with hypodermics, so they figure a way to break out and make for the open sea...

Deep Blue Sea is actually more of a satire than anything else, despite the
terrifying image on the DVD cover. As you watch this film, you
notice the trend of the best players to become shark food before
the slightest. This reality leads to some pretty good
surprises along the way.

The plot revolves around a group of scientists trying to genetically engineer
the brains of sharks to help find a cure for Alzheimer's Disease
. All you end up doing is making a trio of hungry sharks
smart enough to hunt in packs and eliminate the majority of human beings in the
installation underwater. The film has a lot of stomach-beating gore, but
humor of the film makes it easier to take. The film was directed by Renny Harlin
which usually knows how to pace his films, and his skill is on display here
with it.

is not very memorable because basically everyone who can act
se han ido before the end of the first hour. Thomas Jane (Boogie Nights)
and LL Cool J are almost the heroes, and they do so well
as possible within the constraints of the script. The film could have used a better title
, in my humble opinion. "Deep Blue Sea" sounds almost like
some romance movie that can be found in life or some women in the network.

Grand crashed: With regard to the higher profile of the film in question is
..... well, let's just say I have nothing against
Samuel L. Jackson. It could, however, count on one hand the number of times he laughed
to something more difficult in a film that did
scene after his death. That was unexpected, and hilarious. Anyone who claims
saw next is full of it.

Deep Blue Sea is a fun movie. It is well paced, has some emotions, and
may keep you guessing. It is certainly not classical, not
I remember much the next day after launch, but you can do much worse
for a night of movie-watching.

"Die Hard 2," "Cliffhanger," misunderstood "Cutthroat Island",
underestimated "Long Kiss Goodnight" And the guilty pleasure (but pretty damn good)
"Adventures Of Ford Fairlane," Renny Harlin has proved itself time and again
as one of the most visually competent action directors around. He
always behind their work, sincerely I love most of his films. With
"Deep Blue Sea", Harlin is in the midst of trying to keep his career going
due to low box office take of their previous films. The result is a film that is
on autopilot. An attempt to regain the respect of studies and
audience with a slam-bang summer movie that gets the job with ease,
not only for the morning.

Perhaps the biggest problem in "Deep Blue" is the casting. Saffron Burrows and Thomas Jane
lead the cast that also includes Samuel L. Jackson, LL Cool J,
and Michael Rapaport. Both Jane Burrows and give what can only be described as serious misconduct
performances. As members of a science and research
team in a state of the art facility ocean off the coast of Baja California, Mexico,
crew is in the midst of a study on sharks. Sharks are the key to a
possible cure for Alzheimer's disease and other brain dysfunction (
is explained further in the trailer of the film in the film). The
scientists have expanded the brains of animals, making them smarter and faster
. When a chief executive officer (Jackson) arrives for a tour of the facility
, sharks start an uprising that threatens the crew is very
existence. In the middle of nowhere, the team tries to survive both the
sharks and sinking structure.

Saffron Burrows is just the wrong choice of the lead scientific role. His monotonous
British ruined a bad movie ( "Wing Commander") and establishing a
good ( "The loss of sexual innocence"). I do not think she has a lot
talent, in addition to their beauty, and its presence here lethargic
directly conflicts with the high-octane action around him. Thomas Jane in
On the other hand, was good in the role of Dirk Diggle of drug trafficking to a friend
"Boogie Nights". The seemed more alive to 30 minutes of screen time in that film
all 95 minutes of "Deep Blue Sea". I am a bit surprised that nobody mentioned
lack of enthusiasm during the filming. For the lead role, the film
need someone who can burst off the screen with fury and charm. Jane
has none. The movie leaves all wet.

Saying that "Deep Blue Sea" is necessary to do better might be a stretch
piece. This is an action film with great emotion and many explosions.
You can not expect Shakespeare when you buy a ticket for this. However, the screenplay credited to three writers
is very weak (I assume that a large part of the story
were cut for time) and the score of Trevor Rabin is the blandest, most superficial music
to hit the ears in a long time. Hopes were
this, but all the bad parts quickly add.

Harlin specialty is the action sequence. He is one of the few directors who knows
left squeeze the right to fair hearing. "Deep Blue" is filled with wonderful
sequences of suspense and a real amount of anxiety. The
computer-generated sharks move with alarming speed and dexterity. They maintain
patterns on their toes. I can not remember the last time you heard a scream of fear
hearing. Harlin milk every moment for most emotion.
I was very tense throughout the film. Rare that a guy as well as jaded
me.

The comparison with "Jaws" is very regrettable. Just because the film features
sharks does not suggest an immediate "Jaws" Ripoff. We had about 10
high school movies with plots interchangeable and identical ends, even more than
nobody bats an eye. "Deep Blue Sea" is alone with his rousing
emotions and deeply undernourished script. "Jaws" is not.

is hot and summer is about 3 / 4 of the way through. Escape with "
Eyes Wide Shut" or "Blair Witch Project" is impossible. "Deep Blue Sea" good old
fuels the need for action, action and more action. It's summer entertainment
at the highest order, and evil, the thing works. Hopefully it can Harlin
rebound in the future with better material. For now, this is the best source
emotions for the summer. ---------- 7
