Michael Jennings is a reverse engineer and what he does is technical jobs for certain companies and as soon as he is done, his memory of the work he has done is wiped out. Now the longest he has been contracted is 2 months. But now billionaire, James Rethrick offers him a job that would last 2 years, maybe 3, and he promises that he will probably earn 8 figures. Michael agrees. Before beginning he turns in all of his personal effects. And when the job is done, his memory is erased and he learns he made over 90 million dollars over the three years. When he goes to claim it and his personal effects, he discovers that prior to the erasure of his memory he waived his rights to the money he earned and that the items that were given to him were not the ones he gave when he began. Later he is arrested by the FBI who say that he committed some act of treason and murder. It's while he is in custody that he escapes using some the items that he was given. He later meets with a friend who gives him some information that helps him understand what is going on. And at the same time Rethrick for some reason wants him so he is being pursued by Rethrick's people.

Located in the near future, Ben Affleck stars as Michael Jennings, a "reverse engineer
'hacks that new electronic technologies for business rivals
doubled. To protect your client confidentiality according to Jennings
have his memory erased, but after a highly paid top-secret mission of the shadow
James Rethrick (Aaron Eckhart), Jennings awoke to discover that he < br> has lost his Paycheck. In return receives an envelope by apparently senseless
items, which later may well become an integral part of their survival.
Jennings must discover what he has been working over the past two years
before his memory was erased, and why it has been charged with murder, but time is not
by his side And he must gather the clues he left for himself
before the federal or his former employer to catch up with him.

Paycheck promising starts as a clever story with intrigue
rapid action, but unfortunately, the game becomes relentless and tedious
action, as the characters remain underdeveloped and screenplay
signed. Based on the work of sci-fi writer Philip K. Dick, Paycheck
not live up to other film adaptations of his works as Blade Runner or
Total Recall, and Dick's paranoid and deformed futuristic world is not
conducted by John Woo minor designed future. This film is ultimately a
disappointment that falls short of the intriguing story of his fiancée
trailer, but nevertheless is a better than Affleck and Woo
their disappointment with their previous projects Gigli and Windtalkers. In
Moreover Uma Thurman has taken a step backwards after his success with Kill Bill
playing as the diminutive role as Rachel 'plant biologist,' even if that is
an ass-kicking bitch of a plant biologist.

This film is sometimes not entirely original, loans and in some cases
completely ripping off other recent movies like Memento, Minority Report
and Die Another Day. Paycheck is ultimately rescued by their persecution in that scene
Woo crams cars, motorcycles, helicopters and a few in good condition
discarded pipes, topped with a few explosions Woo shows us why it is still
one of the best directors of action and although this movie is not bad
enough to demand their money back its not a well to remember.

What begins as a reasonable setting for science fiction tour over the addicts
quite reasonable for a while as Ben Affleck (a technology of reverse engineering)
jobs that require their memory be erased later, so you do not know how to cut
competitors in technology. Of course, everything goes a little wrong and
joins Uma Thurman as a kick-ass biologist and love interest.
On the basis of a new history of fashion science fiction writer Philip K Dick,
what seems to have all the ingredients for an above average near future
escape with nuances of Total Recall and Memento, but adding
predictable box office draws (fights, car chases and explosions),
elimination of any trace of political or social commentary, and a plot
resulting in more errors than Windows 95, condemning this thriller to undisciplined
mediocrity.
