Shrek is a big ogre who lives alone in the woods, feared from all the people in the land of Duloc. When Lord Farquaad, the ruler of Duloc, exiles all the fairy-tale beings in the woods, Shrek looses his peaceful life and his home becomes a refugees camp. So, he sets to find Lord Farquaad and convince him to take the fairy-tale beings back where they belong, and leave him alone. Lord Farquaad accepts, under one condition. Shrek must first go and find the beautiful young princess Fiona, who will become Farquaad's bride. So, the big Ogre begins his quest, along with his newfound donkey friend...

We went to take the matinee preview of "Shrek". We are still giggling
by the time they were home later. Two hours later, we dragged to a friend
and returned to show the night. Some of the shock value was lost, but
caught some of the background sight gags we fell the first time, and
anticipation of some of the other scenes we had in tears before they even
happened. Interesting to see the different reactions of the public
different age groups, too. This is a very fun movie *, but it is worth noting that
most of the humor is in the Kiddy BURP / fart and Yucky level dining habits -
Shrek is fairly close relationship with Raymond Briggs' ; Fungi coconut
without the orange mohawk. Dialogue and the principal measures are mainly
quips aimed at sophisticated adults and children. A little voice in the afternoon
audience piping up "What's there to compensate?" Cracked me up ...

was warned that this movie is a non-stop out of all things Disney. If
predictability and saccharin is your cup of tea, you may not like it. Turning
Moreover, if you are cynical about theme parks and like the idea of fairies
classic Monty Python get treatment, you'll love.
Each time a scene seems familiar, it means you're about to
go pear-shaped. And it's not just the old classics that get treatment. I spotted
(mis) quotes of films that are just being released, both Disney and
not Disney. You name it, receives an affectionate pie in the face at some point in
"Shrek". As

fairies, however offbeat, "Shrek" is stricter and better track
that characterizes most of Hollywood dross.The parodic twists, a love story that is sub
owes more to Shakespeare's comedies that the formula of fairies, and
the "ugly is the new beautiful" Message more than offset the
derivativeness due to the extensive quotation.

As for acting, voice for the confinement of credits keeps egos of
Myers and Murphy in check, and they do a fantastic job as the Big Fat green and smelly
inmate obnoxiously manic donkey, respectively. Diaz is like a great
feisty princess who reminds me of Lloyd Alexander's crossed with Eilonwy
Lara Croft. Lithgow the Farquaad
Bad Guy is a wonderful model of Olivier's Richard III, apart from his Little Problem
be different. And Fairytale Creatures ... excellent
all of them. The graphics, of course, are state of the art, at least another 2
weeks. We are talking about freckles, skin and pores stubble, pupil dilation, and
surprisingly light and shadow. They had to lower the realism of humanoids
to avoid looking creepily android-like.

highly recommended, unless too precious Schmalz addicts.


Shrek is completely new. Never has a film taken by the CGI totally twists,
turns and surprises as Shrek. This is a complete travesty of numerous
fairies, and its humor is, well, humor at its best. Grown men

laugh at jokes Farquaad of stature and hidden meaning behind every
little comment. Of course, Shrek, like all other movies, has its emotional moments
(for what if I lied about that is totally new?). And these moments are not affected
or anything. They are kind of funny, but at the time

to see that really do not feel like laughing. You'll feel like
characters.

Like its CGI, Shrek has taken a new dimension. It stretches out. You are

in the film. No, wait, you're watching a movie. It is very difficult to know. The
the characters are so real, so that life, makes you feel you're there. The
environments are realistic, and even animated. The wind whispers through
grasslands and the characters' hair; lightning and clouds are really

there ... are not they?

I was surprised and engrossed in this film. And unlike other films, has
beyond CGI. It really has a plot. And what a plot it is!
This is totally new. Shrek is ordered to rescue a princess from the burning
maintain guarded by a dragon in order to clean its swamp of
menacing creatures of fairies.

But does not stop there. The film is full of surprises and extends
ignition
more on what actually happens after. The dialogue requires
their attention over the movie, and then the dragon comes in. Whenever you

see the dragon, you know good things are bound to occur (but not necessarily for the characters
the film). Dragon is a comic relief

but still provides the bulk of the action in the film. She pursues Shrek and Donkey
maintain through the, flies to help rescue Fiona a despicable
marriage, and she still has the satisfaction of a dwarf
swallowing.

Now some disputes have arisen about certain things. But I must say
what I always say: this is just a movie, and has no deeper meaning (despite the

parodies). Take it as is. There can be nothing offensive Shrek
unless you have something against topple tyrants and good-natured humor
.

I have to take a moment to talk about Donkey. He is, and always will be, a

most of my favorite characters in world cinema. Eddie Murphy was not

doubt, the actor perfect for him. He is so funny, so unique, and well ...
fluffy. What a perfect donkey! Its design is impeccable and its dialogue
perfect. I can not find anything bad about this character.

Shrek is perfect for everyone to see. Younger children will love the

vivid colors and lush landscapes. Adults will enjoy this, as well as the
intelligent humour and deep plot. And nobody can dislike the agreement
songs. They fit in very well with the film. Harry Gregson-Williams and

John Powell's composed music is impressive (especially the issue of

Escape from Dragon).

Shrek is brilliant moviemaking. With an innovative DVD,
all-star cast, good music, great graphics, and great Parodiz still
original plot and argument, Shrek is undoubtedly one of the best movies I've seen
.
