The sport of tennis serves (no pun intended) as a good background in
Strangers on a Train and Pat and Mike. As the focal point of a
full feature, has never produced a solid film. Instead, the drama would
occasional light as players (Dean Paul Martin and Ali McGraw
), which fizzled in 1980. Wimbledon, while
a marked improvement over the old, does nothing to change the status quo.

rising stars, Paul Bettany (Master and Commander, A Beautiful Mind), the story is

flowers greatly to the dismay of Dunst's father (Sam Neill) who fears

could win / lose or when romance will lead.

Stars Dunst and Bettany are likable and have a nice chemistry, but not much
script work with them. There are some nice lines and situations
piecemeal everything, but the plot is paper thin and the dialogue is
unimaginative. This was the people who brought us Notting Hill and
Four Weddings and a Funeral? Ah, look to credit more closely and
Richard Curtis is missing; even a cameo Hugh Grant is in sight.
Sam Neill, Bernard Hill, Eleanor Bron and (Remember that your original
bedazzled?) Was wasted in minor roles. The tennis scenes are somewhat
fun with the stars for putting in all matches physical, but
tennis balls are almost too perfect as the special effects become too obvious
.

Bettany goes to the most important functions and Dunst was not hurt
of this slight comedy / drama. One can only imagine what
could have done with a dash more lively and complex characters. Insurance
is nice to see the stars and are a nice couple, but it was a
squandered the opportunity.
Paul Bettany is perfect in his role, and offers its free and clear
ironic lines better than any English from Michael Caine.
It is not classically handsome, but you can not take your eyes off him. Whatever
loves the camera, which takes. Kirstin Dunst continues to get roles that has not
law, however, lead to withdraw from large self-confidence and frankness
. She is not pretty, her figure is absolutely normal and
that certainly is not built like an athlete. She does not even seem
she works. And there is no subtlety in his performance - perhaps
that the directors of the blame, but his one-dimensional image has everything
the mystery of drywall. Whichever it is, Mr Bettany's charm and ease
help soften his approach a note of its role. Sam Neill, a brilliant
and completely lovable actor, is totally lost in this role.
