Out in California's San Fernando Valley, Isabel is trying to reinvent herself. A na??ve, good-natured witch, she is determined to disavow her supernatural powers and lead a normal life. At the same time, across town, Jack Wyatt a tall, charming actor is trying to get his career back on track. He sets his sights on an updated version of the beloved 1960s situation comedy Bewitched, re-conceived as a starring vehicle for himself in the role of the mere-mortal Darrin. Fate steps in when Jack accidentally runs into Isabel. He is immediately attracted to her and her nose, which bears an uncanny resemblance to the nose of Elizabeth Montgomery, who played Samantha in the original TV version of Bewitched. He becomes convinced she could play the witch Samantha in his new series. Isabel is also taken with Jack, seeing him as the quintessential mortal man with whom she can settle down and lead the normal life she so desires. It turns out they're both right—but in ways neither of them ever imagined.

Bewitched (1 Outta 5 stars) What terrible, a misbegotten abortion
this film turned out to be! Why can not simply be content to fazer straight forward adaptation of the old television series? Samantha is a witch,
Darren is a fatal ... they fall in love and then arise from the conflict. Why
have to conceive this complex and absurd argument
about a bad movie actor (Will Ferrell) that the savings schemes in
his floundering career by starring in a TV remake of "Bewitched" ?
And he just happens to cast a real witch (Nicole Kidman) in the female lead?
And this happens only real witch to have some relatives who are real
the same characters from the original TV series? The story gets pretty
sometimes desperate ... with the "dream" sequence, the emergence of
characters who may or may not be mere Figments of the imagination of someone
and the ability to "Samantha" reversing an indefinite period to erase any
their spells that can be bad ido. (Too bad that not only could
rewind all this film and start over again.)
Kidman has an attractive screen presence and probably could have done a good job in a real
"Bewitched" history. Michael Caine and Shirley MacLaine are wasted in a sub
ridiculous that never really comes to any kind of satisfying conclusion
. Will Farrell has some amusing moments but basically plays
unlike a Twite and there is no reason in the world of Kidman
character to fall in love with him. Awful, awful things ... perhaps if
wriggle our noses all this movie can do disappear ...?
"Bewitched" is a painful embarrassment remake of the classic TV sitcom that ran
ABC from 1964-1972. The series, on a "mixed" marriage between a high sorceress
flight and ground, a deadly, has
some of the best known and most iconic images in the history of television.

writer Nora Ephron has thought about the concept, to the extent that it has achieved
strip away most of the elements that made the series
work in the first place. The film is not technically a "remake" of
"Bewitched," since the witch played by Nicole Kidman is not the
Samantha Stevens in the series, but rather a single woman named Isabel Bigelow
Reaching PLAY Samantha Stephens on television. All this is very chic and
complicated, you can see, but the story goes something like this: tired of
life of instant gratification that witchcraft so easily gives
it, Isabella has decided to attack in his own as totally self-sufficient
mortal, entering a house in the avenues of San Fernando Valley
and vowing to go through the rest of their days without the benefit of
witchcraft. One afternoon, while in a bookstore, she is spotted by a
Jack Wyatt, a pompous, self-centered actor whose film career and personal life
have been in the tank in the afternoon and is hoping
at least jumpstart the former taking on the role of Darrin Stevens
in a new version of the old series. A look of Isabel
nose-twitching ability convinced that this would not be
perfect actress for the part, so close, in a Pirandellian fashion, with a witch
fiction television that is playing so honest to God real life witch.

The problem with this film is that it completely undermines
the same elements that made such Samantha and forcing
likable figure for millions of viewers in americas spellbound. Although the
character played by Elizabeth Montgomery was just a "typical
americas housewife," with the content stay at home and submitting to
her husband, she was also smart, shrewd, subversive and occasionally
always wise to the ways of human nature. Isabel is none of these things
. In fact, she has been conceived as something more than a dingbat
airhead, dippy, ridiculous and desperately backward
in their dealings with other people, we wonder what it was that she had been doing for all
millennia before the time of this story. I doubt Ephron
intended to be ironic history in this way, but the old Samantha Stevens
40 years ago he met a woman more modern then that Elizabeth
ago today. Kidman This is clearly the worst, most annoying performance ever,
which only goes to show that even an Academy Award winning actress
can not make a silk bag of each sow's ear next its path.
The same is true with Will Ferrell in the role of pseudo-Darrin
whose over-the-top turn here is the movie equivalent of nails that
dragged across a chalkboard for a exhausting one hour and forty minutes
(the combination of run time of nearly four episodes in the original series
). Michael Caine as Isabel's warlock father and Shirley MacLaine
as real-life witch who's going to be playing Endora are both old pros
enough to turn in decent performances, but even they undoubtedly < br> want to delete this turkey of their resumes otherwise illustrious
as soon as possible.

TV "Bewitched", there is some subtle tension built in
the premise that are carried out in episode to episode. The
Stevens had to find a way to keep the outside world to find the truth in
Samantha about the true identity, not always an easy task, which
Endora or Aunt Clara or Uncle Arthur jump in unannounced at all
time of day or night and casting a spell on some poor, innocent
fatal or wreaking havoc on the young couple married and harmony
Bliss. This tension is completely lost in the film, as is the conflict between
Darrin Endora and that always threatened to halt
Darrin is becoming a chimpanzee or a Bullfrog and Samantha
running effort to ease and
comfort of their former existence. Actually there is no logical or coherent conflict Speaking
in this movie, just a bunch of people running around to act silly
no discernible point or purpose. In fact, only the quality at the scene
is a film in which Isabel and Jack cavorting around an empty set
Frank Sinatra, while the version of the song title plays in the background
. It is the only be - pardon the pun - "magic"
moment in the film.

Because, surprisingly, even the magic in this movie is
humdrum compared with what was done in the television programme. Someone should inform the
those responsible for this movie that special effects have advanced in some
the past half century. One certainly never know what to look
this movie.

The only positive thing that has been said about this movie is not
come loaded with one of those insipid, numb the mind of the tracks that are regularly laugh
slap in TV sitcoms -- But then again even a laugh track
not found much more to chortle here.
