Following a bomb scare in the 1960s that locked the Webers in their bomb shelter for 35 years, Adam Weber must venture out into Los Angeles and obtain food and supplies for his family, and a non-mutant wife for himself. He meets Eve (Alicia Silverstone), who reluctantly agrees to help him out.

I thought this was a very funny comedy. The sets used were very realistic,
looked like some of the furniture that used to own at the time. The
was right on target, the dialogue is interesting and fun, and history
was well done. Made me wonder if this could happen not only in such an important part
scale or prolonged. 3 stars.
There certainly is a lack of originality in movies now. Romantic comedies
always seem to have the girl circumvent man, the man continued, and then
finally meet. That is exactly the case of Blast in the past,
unless the man has been living in a bomb shelter for his entire life.
This is a joke that could work for a stay of five minute sketch, or perhaps only flop
in general, but that's not the case here. This is a simple romantic comedy with a twist thrown into huge
, which works to the advantage of the film.

Adam (Brendan Fraser) had lived in a rain shelter for all of his life,
because his father (Christopher Walken) finds a nuclear bomb dropped
at home. 35 years later, Adam is going to bring supplies and
meet a girl who makes it. Eve (Alicia Silverstone) is a feisty, typical of the 90
americas, but since Adam had never met anyone else besides their parents,
only accepts. Soon she falls in love with (hence, Adam and Eve), but
the reverse is not the same. Can Persuade? Only in the romantic comedy cliché
tell us!

Blast from the Past is surprisingly light romcom. Never will
taken seriously, which helps keep the mood light, which is what it is supposed to be
. Sometimes it gets silly, including a Benny Hill-ish
chase scene, and man-mandatory-that-can not drive automobiles units of automobiles scene wildly. A
scenario like this can easily descend into heartstring-plucking land, but fortunately
stays at the top, and over the top. Director Hugh Wilson, whose
curriculum includes such films as the original and the Police Academy
The First Wives Club, can keep a film that could radically wrong turn on the right track
.

Fraser is great. It really seemed that he was raised in a fall
housing. His Mannerisms were all in the sixties, and how they are acted exactly
key. Silverstone was good, but nowhere near as good as
Walken and Sissy Spacek as the parents of Adam. They embody their roles as people who have
to live in the same space for 35 years. This film is everything
romantic comedies today do not have: no crude humor, funny lines, good performance, and a fun story
. People can really learn a lesson observation of the Past Blast
.
