I like a movie in which every moment of it feels real, and "Proof" is
such film. Critics have had a pretty mediocre response to
the movie, so I was somewhat surprised that I liked a lot. But
is easily one of the best movies I've seen this year.

I have not seen the David Auburn play in which the film is basa,
and perhaps many of the detractors of the film is:
screen adaptations of favorite plays often seem to dilute them in detriment of history.
But if this movie is worse than his counterpart stage, there must be
did a damned good game.

The acting in this movie is its main attribute, and director John Madden
is wise enough to realize the talent and a whole
standing outside his path. The game around with the chronology and enables the spare
click its history instead as a mathematical puzzle, I do not know
or if not original to the film or borrowed from the work, but neither
how it works well. But above all, allows players
strut his stuff, and the four directors to maximize the functions of meat.

Most of the praise has been declining, and rightly so,
Gwyneth Paltrow, which offers a complete body, texture and powerful performance as
Catherine, who has inherited his genius for mathematics and his father is
Deathly afraid that she may have inherited his madness as well. I do not know that
Paltrow has not yet had an important role like this, and she
flexiona their acting chops in a way that I have not seen done outside
underestimate his performance in "Sylvia." Hope Davis agrees with his
scene for scene as astringent older sister, is refreshing to see Davis
break with the mousy mealy person who so frequently and takes
play this crisp, overwhelming nature. The male actors have less to do
overall, but the roles are perfectly cast. Jake Gyllenhaal
is ripe for stardom, and this may be the year in which it carries. Anthony Hopkins
has been dismissed as hammy here, but I think it does an effective job of portraying
mental illness, and creates poignant moments that could have been ruined
that had been played differently.

"Proof" feels completely honest about the dynamics
dysfunctional families; you just know David Auburn is writing from personal experience
. Like Robert Redford "Ordinary People", if you have any
exposure similar to the family dynamics, you know the team that put the film together
everything that is just right. "Proof" also creates a
parallelism between mathematics and messiness of life that makes a
to reassess the rigidity of what always seems to be an exact science.
As one must accept a level of ambiguity in life, one must also be
willing to make leaps of faith in mathematics, because nothing can be
100% verified.

I recommend this movie. It is satisfying to both an intellectual and emotional
. And any movie that can make math exciting to me
automatically gets thumbs.

Grade: A
This film is about death, love and mental incapacity. They are not obliged to be
endless cliches, comparisons and draw parallels with
Ron Howard's "A Beautiful Mind", so I will not go there.

After all, this film has to do with Gwyneth Paltrow.

She is on the screen at least 80% of this movie. His character dances
between mourning, anger, remorse, confusion, fear, vulnerability,
sadness and a little love. There are very dramatic changes
in the excitement of moment to moment, and Paltrow is pulled off brilliantly.

Sir Anthony Hopkins role, although relatively small, is crucial to the film
. His performance was good, but not much. But in reality not
issue, as evidence has to do with Paltrow. Hope Davis and Jake Gyllenhaal
also gave solid performances, but his Hopkin as the role of
is really nothing but support Paltrow.

The biggest disappointment for me was the almost total absence of any
'real' mathematics. For a film that revolves around
brilliant mathematical Proof, there is a shortage almost painful and real
mathematics in the film. There are photos of equations seemingly at random
Scrawl through paper or a blackboard, and the strange conversation
reference to some law or known mathematical theorem, but I would have liked more
.

If you want a happy movie, go see something else. If you want a senseless
film, go see something else. If you want a typical love story, go see
otherwise. If you want an intelligent and well-written history of substance presented
involving aa
experiencing a roller coaster of emotions, the test may be for you.
