In this blend of the B movie classic The Blob (1958) and some Romero's zombies film, a meteorite collides in a small town. Grant finds it, and is infected by a parasite worm, which installs in his brain and causes him a creepy transformation into a monster. Starla, his wife, and Bill, a policeman, will try to stop him and the plague of worms generated by the creature.

(Synopsis) The movie opens with a meteorite landing in the Backwoods
the small town of Wheelsy. The bad news is that our atmosphere
not burn up everything inside the meteorite. One of Wheelsy's rich business
men, Grant Grant (Michael Rooker), who is married to the young and beautiful
high school biology teacher, Starla (Elizabeth Banks), is a slow movement
viscose thing behind the bar in the city. The slug stops moving as
Grant is approaching, he becomes infected by the ingot. Grant
begins to change and evolve into a bloodthirsty eat meat squid with a creature
need to kill to maintain his life. Sheriff Bill Pardy (Nathan Fillion)

(my comments) Slither is a 1950 Type B-grade horror / comedy film
scenario that has everything. A million years old, foreign parasite
outer space with tentacles penetrating that sucks the life of you,
fast-moving slugs who want to get inside your mouth, dogs and cows be
eaten by humans and deer zombies, a huge mother globalization, and
small town is terrorized by a monster. This is your classic category B
movie is great fun watching. You will laugh from beginning to end
. For reasons of budget, it appears that used the old standby,
tomato ketchup for blood. There are some moments of fear, but most
scenes are hilarious. If you want a pleasant evening and a good laugh
, this is the movie to see. (Universal Pictures, 1:36 runtime,

I have to do in this movie premiere in LA is a coincidence - I was
interested in the stars, Nathan Fillion, and was when someone has
extra tickets - and I must say, the previews I was
not impressed. It simply did not appeal to me.

Despite all this, I absolutely loved the film. It's fun and gross
and fear and such a good time. It is known that all those things at once
and all concerned the right notes.

In many ways it's like the film Shawn of the Dead - real people
Reactions to the film classic horror scenarios; fun, self-referential
mocking the genre of horror , Etc. - but somehow
is new and fresh and very pleasant.

The writing is superb and there are some truly amazing moments
(both of fun and fearsome varieties). All actors do a fabulous job
. I recommend seeing this film.
