"Fight Club" an aggressive attitude of confrontation, often brutal
satire which is very possibly a brilliant masterpiece. Taking
"Choose Life" anti-consumerism rant at the beginning of
"Trainspotting" and lead to its logical - albeit extreme
- conclusion that this is a big-budget, mainstream
movie that takes a lot of risks to bite the hand that feeds
.
The film's narrator (Edward Norton) is an insignificant
in the drab, business machine, doing their work diligently and
what he said without a doubt. It is a slave to insomne
Ike their possessions and found only in the joy of going to as many
self-help/dealing terminally ill
meetings as possible. It provides an escape from his
sleepless nights. That is, until Marla Singer (Helena Bonham Carter
), a chain-smoking trashy Poser,
enters his life and disrupts their routine. The narrator also
meets Tyler Durden (Brad Pitt), a charismatic soap salesman whose
simple honesty, candor and sleazy lounge-lizard
costumes are a breath of fresh air.
One night, after the two men have bonded over beers, Tyler
asks the narrator to beat him. At first, it seems like an absurdity
request, but after being waged on each other for a bit, a strange feeling overcomes
. They feel a kind of liberation and
satisfaction at inflicting pain on one another.
In a world where people are desensitized to everything around them
, physical contact of fighting them awake
and makes them feel really alive. Other early and join
soon Fight Club becomes one meter
feeling. However, it is clear that Tyler
has more elaborate plans that only the organization of the local bar brawls
.
David Fincher has taken the dark, pessimistic in the world of
"Seven" and married the clever plot twists and turns
"The Game" and mounted his strongest effort to date.
"Fight Club" is a $ 50 + million studio film that remains true to its
anti-consumer, anti-society, anti-everything message
- Until the last, sneaky subliminal framework.
What does "Fight Club" a subversive delight is not only refreshing
its anti-corporate message, but the way in offering such
message. As Fincher has explained in interviews,
you do not really see the movie, but rather download it. Its structure is
very playful, as it messes around with a linear time
incredible degree. The narrative bounces back and forth
all over the place like a novel, or surf the Internet - even
make a hilarious dead stop to draw attention to himself in a
fun, interesting how it works completely. However, Norton's narration
deadpanned
has everything together and allows the viewer to get a handle on what is happening.
This is how movies should be made. Why should we
always have to go through the A + B + C formula? "Fight Club"
openly rejected this tired, outdated structure clearly in favour of a stylized
frenzy of jump cuts, freeze frames, slow motion
and any other technique of the film in the book that only
reinforces his message anarchist.
A film like this had ever been by a major studio Greenlight
if Brad Pitt had not been attached to
project. Once you see the movie, it is clear that he
was the only option for tyler durden. As it did with
"Kalifornia" and "Twelve Monkeys", grunge own
Pitt and disappears completely in its role to a degree
terribly convincing. For many of
brutal fight scenes, is transformed into a bloody, pulpy mess
that surely will have the "Legends of the fall" of operating fans
exits. This is an incredible performance - probably his best
- for the simple fact that he becomes the character so completely
.
If Pitt is striking, gonzo role, Edward Norton is
his perfect foil as the seemingly gentle yet sardonic narrator. It
deceptively understated performance as the last third of
the film reveals, but Norton nails perfectly. He is clearly
our surrogate, our introduction into this strange world and
ironically his comments about our consumer-obsessed culture
are right on the money. They are the perfect setting for the introduction
Tyler and his view about the world
is clearly a call to arms class, a manifesto that
rejects the idea that we are what counts.
And, ultimately, that's what "Fight Club" trying to do. The film is a film
punch to the head, because the challenges
status quo and offers an awakening call to people
immersed in a world where the materialistic things that are more
" ; win. "I think the film Fincher wants all those who tear down
, reject the corporate monsters such as Starbucks and Blockbuster
, and try to find out what we really want
life. It's almost as if the film suggests salvation through
self-destruction. And is that these stimulants
ideas that makes "Fight Club" dangerously
brilliant film that entertains and enlightens.
Similar to idea of "American Beauty", but certainly not in style or content
this bleak look at the underground culture and spiritual redemption that brings
is easily one of the most intelligent movies I've ever seen . Directed
by the same man who brought us the magnificent 'The Game' is another film that will
to do more than once to truly understand. Focusing on
sad white-collar, middle-class Norton whose only real dream in life is
own all the content of a catalogue of Ikea was followed by a chance meeting with the charismatic
strange Pitt and the unfortunate events that
conspiring to get together. After a hard night drinking
start a friendly-ish scrap which is considered a couple of others and that
small acorn a mighty oak called Fight Club grows. This is the point around which the entire film revolves
with Norton and Pitt form an underground club
que se basa increasingly disillusioned young men to join it. Based on company
'Queensbury Rules "is a cathartic if bloody way to spend your night.
In the long run because it becomes a huge operation Pitt, the de facto leader,
that moves up a gear and created his own cult of this secret society.
This is where the film becomes glossy and spin towards the end is magnificent,
better even than the much talked about 'The Sixth Sense'. Simply
has a lot to say about things: the castration of an entire generation of young men
( "No war on the great struggle, not a great depression"), the increasing isolation
us all feel from each other and the need to find something that
call us back together and most importantly, the power of an exciting, challenging and
idea is fermentation in cultismo. However, when many films that only
say 'This is a bad thing' 'Fight Club' no. It is rather a conviction for an
materialistic society that has forgotten much of himself.
can fully empathise with these men, even when the banda
together against this uncaring society that has grown to be something
their instincts do not understand. It's as close as a genius and you get a movie
you thinking and talking for days.
