FBI Agent Will Graham has been called out of early retirement to catch a serial killer, known by authorities as "The Tooth Fairy". He asks for the help of his arch-nemesis, Dr. Hannibal "The Cannibal" Lecter, so that he can be able to catch "The Tooth Fairy" and bring him to justice. The only problem is that "The Tooth Fairy" is getting inside information about Graham and his family from none other than Dr. Lecter.

But it was pretty damned close. "Red Dragon" is a great movie to see.
I must admit that I had my doubts. I heard some bad things about this movie
of my friends. I had bought the film for my mom, and she said
only to give it a shot. I'm glad I did. "Red Dragon" goes back to roots that
"The Silence of the Lambs" did. It had high drama and action
. I was very impressed. Anthony Hopkins and does a great job as
his most famous role as Hannibal Lector. Actually I must say that I
not adhere to my friend of views. This was a great movie.
I would like to recommend the "Silence of the Lambs" fans.

It was a fantastic movie, but slipped under the radar that many people
for three reasons:

1) Critics said (and rightly) that is not as good as < br> The Silence of the Lambs. However, I find it difficult to compare the
movies, largely because of Will Graham (Norton) is completely different to
Clarice Starling (Foster). The other dimension they bring to the
investigation is sufficient in itself to distinguish them
beyond comparison.

2) This was the third film in the series. The problem with Hollywood
pumping out an absurd series of sequels and prequels (
even when the original movie was terrible to begin with) is that
alter public attitudes towards them. People are usually happy to see the
"Part 2", but beyond that, you're usually at the fair. In fact,
this situation has worsened due to the fact that many of the sequels
was outrageously wrong (for example, the American Pie sequels, sequels
Highlander). Some are so terrible that they can really
tarnish the memory of the original (eg .. Matrix Revolutions). Therefore, a
Hannibal third film was always going to be an uphill battle.

3) This followed a terrible sequel: Hannibal. People thought that was terrible Hannibal
(and there is no shortage of them) is likely to turn its nose in
more sequels or prequels. That's what Hollywood
always overlooked - once the bomb was a bad sequel (for example, Ocean's Twelve
2004), fewer people are considered even see the next sequel, unless
that it receives almost unanimous acclaim from critics.

I did not like Hannibal well and I think that many Hollywood stars have become
down after reading the script. Jodie Foster, with
supply reprising his academy award winning role, and Jon
Demme (director of The Silence of the Lambs) walked away from the Hannibal
after disagreements with the author (Harris ) Along the addresses of characters.
Hopkins near the left when Foster and Demme walked, but was persuaded to stay
(probably with a good salary increase!). In any case, the key elements were
ido and I believe that ultimately, not to attract a strong
supporting cast.

On the contrary, I think many actors who have fallen more than
to land one of the roles in Red Dragon
after reading the script. As a result, we ended up with Hopkins (reprising his
academy award winning role to absolute perfection), Norton (
which is the legitimate winner of the Academy of American History X, in my opinion, even though
the academy was another person of that year), Harvey Keitel, Ralph
Finn and bright, but they are valued, Phillip Seymore
Hoffman. They combine great encouragement for life in this
research and thriller. And the opening 5 minutes is great.

However, I have two criticisms that cost him a star. First,
was not quite dark enough. Maybe this masterpiece, The Silence of the Lambs,
visceral exhausted all the attributes that were so pathetically contrived
Hannibal and now, but not present in Red Dragon.
There certainly was a dark edge, but not just get under my skin
how silence of the lambs made (if you pardon the pun).

Secondly, I found that there were some off-shoots to the main plot
could have been worked around or appears to play no role in any film
. For example, the tense relationship between Norton and
reporter (Hoffman), Finn taking the blind girl to listen to
sedated tigre (or lion or what is), Norton teaching his wife and
shoot ... and many others. Most of the time, I felt that
should have been placed on the cutting room floor, because they were of little interest
, had little (if any) role in the context of history and accordingly
, Bulk unnecessarily run time of the film.

otherwise, excellent viewing. Not deterred by Hannibal -
sequel that succeeds not so deplorable that one.
