(action, comedy, crime)
Colourful and unconventional slapstick comedy. Ex-con Hi and ex-cop Ed meet, marry and long for a child in the wilds of Arizona. When Ed discovers she's barren the God-given solution is presented: to snatch a baby from a set of quins. Thus begins a series of kidnappings, capers and rum goings-on that revolve around the helpless yet universally-loveable child. Hi's convict friends, his boss, and even the Lone Biker Of The Apocalypse become involved in the ever-twisting plot in the quest to own the baby.

The Coen brothers are genius! That is not an opinion, that's a fact.
I can appreciate and respect all kinds of different views
all sorts of matters, but not this one. If someone says that the Coen brothers are
bad, underestimated or not funny, are simply wrong. Raising Arizona
is the funniest story I've ever seen. You can go in the top
as much as you want and still not become bad. This is a great achievement
only the Coen brothers can do. Jim Carrey can not do it and neither can
Mike Myers. At the same time, this story is emotional and warming.
How often do you see such a combination. Joel and Ethan Coen
often use the same actors and actresses. And there are those who cause
right to play in his films belong to the best Hollywoods. John Goodman, Holly Hunter
... and Nicolas Cage in this movie! Nic plays one of his best roles to date
. Maybe even better. Holly Hunter is great as ever
and this role is ideally suited to his. I think it was also
written especially for her. There is no need to say John Goodman and William Forsythe
gift and impeccable performances. Try to pay attention to the
rather small role played by Frances McDormand. Raising Arizona is a criminal

. That news breaks! A rich young man in the area received
quintets. 5 young and healthy babies. Hello and Ed (our young) I think it is unfair
and decide to steal one of them so they could raise their own little
family. Now, I wrote a few lines that already appear in
intro of the film. I hear you think: what else is going to
to fill the movie. Well, go and see. If you have not seen this movie yet
is a real shame. It is a duty for all to see! Some scenes are so hilarious
will have trouble breathing, I assure you. This film does not need
or stupid teenager faces sex jokes to be fun.
"Raising Arizona" is one of what I think are the five
instant classic films by the team of Ethan and Joel Coen, the others
"Blood Simple," "Fargo," " ; Oh Brother Where You Are "and" The Big Lebowski
. "
however, "Raising Arizona" is my personal favorite, and probably the most
citable movies I've seen, with some of the best dialogue ever written by
cinema.
The story in brief: H.I. (Nicholas Cage) and "Ed" (Holly Hunter in a
my favorite roles she) portray, respectively, and an ex-cop with a
to play when it keeps getting arrested for robbing
convenience stores. They fall in love, marry, deciding that "there is too much
love" between them, and they need a "Critter to share it with."
After the conclusion that "Edwina the interior are a rocky place" where the HI

HI 'S record. Then read in the local newspaper about
unpainted furniture storeowner Nathan Arizona (Trey Wilson), owner of
"Unpainted Arizona," and his wife have
Quintuplets as a result of fertility pills, and that joke that "got more than they can handle
." The couple hatch a plan to take one of the babies and raise
as their own.
What results is an ongoing, fast-paced, hilarious series of misfortunes,
complicated by the emergence of a ruthless, cruel outlaw called
Leonard Smalls (Randall "Tex" Cobb ) Nathan Arizona hires
find the missing baby, and two friends criminal HI in the past (John Goodman and
William Forsythe), to make a childbirth-like escape from prison.
Sam McMurray (smarmy dad in "Drop Dead Gorgeous") is the HI ....
smarmy boss, Glen. Frances McDormand (real-life wife of Joel Coen, and the star
other Coen films like "Blood Simple" and "Fargo") is
his excitable wife Dot. M. Emmet Walsh ( "Blood Simple") has a
scenery-chewing cameo role as the HI talkative co-worker.
When Ed finally opens its 5'2 "of South-fried whup-ass,
throwing his badge to the dirt, striding toward Leonard Smalls as she bellows with all
its power, "Gimme that baby back, Warthog
hell! "I always throw my arms and shouting" go girl!
Kick his ass! "And how
cries Hunter is hilarious.
Holly Hunter was very good in this role, as expected. She is a very talented actress
, both serious and comic roles.
Nicholas Cage and Holly Hunter made a great couple on screen, with Cage
your hair stand in all directions, looking like a hapless,
browbeaten puppy half the time, and Hunter
as its diminutive firecracker of a woman who loves him and tries to keep it honest (oh yeah
except for that little excursion kidnapping).
could go on and on about this movie but suffice it to say that so far
I have not met anyone who did not find "Raising Arizona" hilarious. And like any great
the Coen brothers' film, which has a certain mythical quality that
difficult to describe, but is present in all of the brothers' best efforts.
When I was alone, I often used the Coen brothers' films as a barometer for potential
type boyfriends. For example, I remember seeing
"Fargo" as a first step, and when they left the theater,
the boy (whose name I have forgotten already that anyway) said "Huh, I did not think
that much ", while I was thinking how I
of the film! I immediately thought to myself "Both for him! This
relationship did not last long. "
For more great Coen comedy, check out" Oh Brother Where are you "
(2000), which is inspired by Homer's epic poem" The Odyssey ". Another great
Coen comedy is "The Big Lebowski" (1998), which also includes
my favorite singer-songwriter Aimee Mann in a brief cameo, and
has a cult that has led to once a year "Lebowskifest"
for lovers of the film.
"Blood Simple" (1984) is probably my favorite film noir today
classic tale of lust and betrayal, and it is my second favorite
Coen Brothers movie. "Fargo" (1996), which won the Oscar for writing screen,
and an Oscar for Frances McDormand, is another must see classic Coen.
