The second novel to be adapted from the collection of Stephen King
"Four Past Midnight," Secret Window is one of King's stories adapted
that, while not especially memorable or , Somehow manages
tell their premise quite chillingly while being closer to himself
B-movie status and (equally) true to its dark core.

The story is actually very familiar ground: Stephen King
MISERY commented that while representing a writer who is being held prisoner by an insane
former nurse and rabid fan that makes the unspeakable things to it to ensure its
favorite character, Misery Chastain, live in, and darkness HALF
introduces a Twilight Zone-ish take on a dual personality that
another author is a man tormented by dangerous , Mixtures Secret Window
in which translates into "perfect ending" to the missing pages
apparently plagiarized a story. And while the plot is clearly cliches
within every inch of his life, the director David Koepp achieves
generate some good suspense that allows us to take care of this poor chap
Mort Rainey (Johnny Depp underestimated by that in doing so makes his character completely
human) and the fear of anger just below John Shooter (John Turturro
creepy), while not quite give us everything in black and white in order
introducing sharply left field events. As
In fact, once the "twist" arrives, it seems plausible and even
expected, but is even more chilling in the inexorability in which
meets.

One thing that works to Stephen King's books are his constant use of
internal dialogues that here is finally put in a great
Rainey forefront of the division into two separate entities, and taking into talk with them
each other in a crucial scene. This only strengthens the idea that
Rainey is to discover as a person and more than likely fall prey to
darkness that seems to be closing in. It's a technique that is not
often used when adjusting his novels and a movie that tends to work against
order and, finally, someone who has the right. He never feels too long
a film despite the fact that only runs shy of one hour and three quarters
, and this is due to the deft direction. Good suspense, great
psychological horror comes across a plot incredibly tired, and
that is good film-making.
Director David Koepp has written some nice dashes ( '
Carlito's Way', 'Panic Room') and I liked his "Stir of Echoes". Here comes
with a thriller based on a novel by Stephen King that is not very good but
has some qualities. The best quality here is another tremendous
performance of Johnny Depp. No matter what he does, he succeeds in
make a film entertaining even when they should not.

Depp is a writer named Mort Rainey, newly divorced,
because his wife (Maria Bello) duped by him. Now lives in a hut near a lake,
alone write his new book. One day a man rings his bell saying
Rainey has stolen one of his stories. Rain is not aware of this fact
and can demonstrate that a magazine printed his short story
a couple of years before the man, called John Shooter (John Turturro), claims he wrote
his version. Shooter wants this magazine before he
cree, causing considerable problems in the meantime.

This is a film with a secret, something we understand very soon. I
not disclose, but most people will find an idea
and find out they are right. Despite having a secret playing too
as a lot of thrillers we have already seen. Interesting performances
(Bello is quite good as the wives too) and some dry humor
not change that. Something else that I liked. Koepp some good
paid attention to what David Fincher did with his' Panic Room 'screenplay,
especially with the camera. There are some great shots here and
Depp, along with ensuring that 'Secret Window' is not in vain.
