Mel Gibson plays a former priest who lost his faith after his wife was killed in a freak car accident. Six months later, he discovers a gigantic crop circle in his yard, similar events happen all over the world. Graham's children think it's aliens, his brother thinks it's pranksters, and Graham doesn't know what to think. The crop circles cause a media frenzy and test Hess's faith as he journeys to find out the truth behind the crop circles. However, as more and more strange events occur, he regains his faith and realizes something big is coming, and it's probably not going to be friendly.

I've seen this movie in a weekend packed show opening in New York City. As the film
advanced and the tension grew I thought to myself that this was
really a good movie. There were scares, laughs and even some
some scenes that tugged at the old heart strings. It reminded me
Night of the living dead and the original War of the Worlds, both of which are favorites
long. During the final, climatic scene
something so retarded that happened was I booted the
contented haze movie I have been lulled into. I was shocked. What
spoke to my girlfriend and said: "They get killed by water? The water kills? "
She said aloud" This film is F * CKING DUMB! "And I said:" I do not think that
... "And that's all. Naked foreigners who find water to be fatal
come to the wettest place in this solar system. So I think
or not, that killed arrive with water. Other posters (or nearly 1,000
something) have pointed out how insulting this is absolutely not going to go
more in him. I wonder why people that this rate by 10
do not bother to address this outlandish plot device that destroys
entire film for many others. I even accept an explanation as
"I am an idiot and major holes in the plot-not bother me at all." Have
M. Night never defended this absurd movie? No? That is probably because
is indefensible.
Why is that a career (technologically advanced?) Foreigners with serious water

treat allergies and invade a planet that is nearly covered with water?
Dunn .... do not care .... is all a load of crap derivatives anyway with some desirable
spiritual thrown into absurd attempt to justify
