In 2046, in a research facility in Mars, some subjects are released and the place is kept in quarantine. A team of Marines, leaded by Sarge (The Rock), is assigned to rescue the personnel and retrieve the research data, with the support of Dr. Samantha Grimm (Rosamund Pike), the twin sister of the Marine John "Reaper" Grimm (Karl Urban). While in the mission, Samantha finds a dark hidden secret about the monsters and the researches.

Doom was quite entertaining video-game turned movie. He promised
violence and definitely delivered. While you do not have to
think too much about what was happening, it has a plot with a large
twists. I expected a simple "shooter" movie, very similar to
the game and, frankly, expected to be boring. I was, but nothing. The
video game style of the film is rather limited largely to a scene. An impressive
scenario that if I felt the film lacks the violence in any
So, should fulfil their blood lust.

Sarge (The Rock) is the leader of a team of elite USMC who is sent to a
space station on Mars to investigate the disappearance of a problem
scientists. Upon discovering the majority of dead scientists, who
soon realized that no iban to stay that way.
I do not want to give away much more than that, but there is more to this movie.

Sarge team consists of Destroyer (Deobia Oparei), the religious goat
(Ben Daniels), Duke (Raz Adoti), Portman (Richard Brake), The Kid (Al
Weaver), Mac (Yao Chin) and John Grimm (Karl Urban), which becomes
the twin brother of one of the scientists, Samantha Grimm (Rosamund Pike
).

Doom started rather slow, but once the ball came rolling, the game resembled
increasingly emotion and held up well.
All these players withdrew from parts with great success. Really, how
that could go wrong? I went into this movie with very low expectation
. Especially after reading some comments, so I was very pleasantly surprised
. I can not recommend this movie to those who love
good, bloody action film. Basically, if you can refer to Sin City, then
Doom is also the film for you. 9 / 10
There are certain genres that are despised no matter what. The
genre films based on video games is one of those and rightly so.
There have been quite a lot horrible adaptations of video games such as Wing Commander
games, Super Mario Bros., Tomb Raider,
Street Fighter, Double Dragon, and the House of the Dead. There have been
however, some decent adaptations as Mortal Kombat (the first film,
not the sequel) and the Resident Evil films. Now that I have seen the
unrated version, Doom can be added to that list. Although not nearly as
stylish and entertaining as Mortal Kombat and Resident Evil, Doom May
not mind-blowing spectacle that the fans were
waiting game, but at least knows what he is: a fun Foreigners knock-off.
Unlike foreigners, Doom strong lacks a solid history and well-developed characters
that the public can animate. The characters are here
just one dimensional. There are essentially no motivation to
what they do and hence, the film suffers. Still, it's better
expected, thanks to some slick direction, a pair of solid
action sequences, and The Rock. 7 / 10
