Based on a play, Sleuth confronts two extremely clever British men in a game of trickery and deceit. Andrew Wyke (Michael Cain), an aging famous author who lives alone in a high-tech mansion, after his wife Maggie has left him for a younger man; and Milo Tindle (Jude Law),an aspiring actor, equipped with charm and wit, who demonstrates both qualities once again). When Wyke invite Tindle to his mansion, Tindle seeks to convince the former into letting his wife go by signing the divorce paper. However, Wyke seems far more interested in playing mind games with his wife's new lover, and lures him into a series of actions he thoroughly planned in seeking revenge on his unfaithful spouse.

In England, the Italian Inglés hairdresser Milo Tindle (Michael Caine)
is invited by the successful writer of detective stories
Andrew Wyke (Laurence Olivier) to visit his isolated home. The lower class is Milo
the lover of the wife of Andrew, used to have a comfortable life, and
he intends to marry her. Andrew suggests Milo steal his jewelry

first-class actors and four scenarios sufficient to make an excellent movie
with four nominations at the Oscars. The smart and know theatrical
incredible story lines and twists in a duel of cat and mouse between two icons
, and has not aged. My vote is nine.

It is often said that when a movie is the version of a famous game
or the material is not suitable for the big screen or when
filmmakers have tried to counteract this practically through a stage of
shooting performance (for example, Othello, Butley and The Return), the result is flat
and cold.
Sleuth, the work becomes "cinematically" very effective, the

immediately. So we are supposed to be surprised when 'Doppler'
reveals his true identity.
What is even more disheartening is that the solution to this problem is so simple

If a third actor has been used for playing Inspector Doppler then nobody
suspect one thing and then when the moment of truth will emerge, the film can cut
to Michael Caine dressed as the third player like removes the mask.
may not be 100% convincing, but at least it is deceiving the audience for
