President James Dale of the United States and his right-hand man, Jerry Ross discover that an army of Martian UFOs are hovering around the Earth, and everyone has a different response. Some, like Texan alcohol dealer Art Land and slimy nesman Jason Black, just want to make a profit out of it. Others, such as TV hostess Nathalie Lake, Land's spiritualist wife Barbara, and the Southern-like Norris family, are excited, and some, like Dale's wife, Marsha, and daughter, Taffy, don't care. Richie Norris is extremely intelligent but is only respected by his insane grandmother, while his older brother Billy is favored for joining the army. General Decker doesn't trust the Martians and insist they fight, but General Casey is more optimistic. The Martians appear to come in peace but suddenly begin to use their super-powerful and technologically advanced weapons to wipe out the population and great structures. Soon, they attack Las Vegas, where the Norrises are living, where former heavyweight champion Byron Williams is visiting, where an obnoxious lawyer is gambling, and where Tom Jones is performing in concerts.

Anyone who hates this movie missed the point. This is a funny little satire
in the assimilation of American culture, the great cultural melting pot. This
dares to ask the question: What if another group of people who do not want
was adopted at the consumerist culture of americas? The results are hilarious,
as we have a group of Martians double-talking their way through the
annihilation of the U.S. A, and the only people capable of ending
they are the ones who really could care less about the Way of americas:
the President's daughter, who shows more respect for the culture and history of their
parents could never achieve, and Richie donut shop the child, whose main concern is
the welfare of others, especially his grandmother, who ironically
offers him a way out of this mess. Only I saw this movie twice, but
still makes me laugh out of my head and gives me the antidote for
jingoistic end to the other movie alien invasion of 1996,
Independence Day.

In short, say what you want about the attacks on Mars! If you do not understand it,
that is not my problem.
There is a guarantee in life: When you're reading 5
comments on Mars Attacks, four of them are negative! Why, I wonder? It's really hard to
I believe that all these lovers of cinema fail to see the film as
Tim Burton is the intention. Mars Attacks! is a great movie and - above all - a very effective
parody. Burton has the opportunity to parody and laughs with
almost all forms of today ... dirt politics, religion, the army,
television, greed in Las Vegas and God knows what else. Mars Attacks!
is pure cinema of anarchy that I have seen so far, and I really want
encourage you to see again unless he liked the first time.
Tim Burton is a genius. Virtually all movies made before (and after)
Mars Attacks! demonstrate that. Do you really believe that would deliver a failure? Or you
cree brilliant cast that all would agree protagonist of a
lower production? They all recognized the genius of this film why ...
the public can not do the same?

Mars Attacks! is a remarkable achievement for a reason.
This could very well be unique film that cost a fortune to look cheap!
Burton probably a huge waste of budget adjustments to make and design
see as they did in the 50's typical sci-fi films.
Burton is a great fan of these films and spared neither the money or trouble to make his satire
see how films. The direct homage to Edward Wood
in the opening credits is a clear example of this is so, I think. Perhaps
this would be the only one that can accuse Tim Burton Mars ...
Attacks! is a very personal project of his. I really doubt that very concerned
on the question of whether Mars Attacks! would become a success or not. The
told his story and who clearly enjoy doing ... Why do not you like seeing
then?
